Founded in 2009 to bring the top match racers to Lake Michigan and has hosted over 50 World Sailing events including the America's Cup World Series
The Chicago Match Race Center's goal is to provide the highest-level match racing training facility for professional and amateur sailors in the United States. In addition to hosting world-class regattas throughout the summer, the CMRC offers multiple weekly training programs, running from May through September. In addition to a complete fleet of Tom28’s, the CMRC also added brand new Elliott 6m’s to be raced right off the spectator-friendly Belmont Harbor. With Match Racing as an addition to the 2012 Olympic Games, co-founders Don Wilson, an avid racer, and Bill Hardesty, a World Match Race Tour Champion, are bringing the excitement of this global phenomenon to Chicago.
