I was so disappointed in our stay at Chief Logan as compared to other state parks in WV. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable. The hallways are super hot and the fans in the halls aren't helping. I had to go on a wild goose chase for ice because the signage said there was an ice maker on the third floor and it was no where to be found. Also, the lodge is on the other side of the mountain from the rest of the park. There is a mountain with a 16% grade between the lodge and everything else. Even worse, to get to the lodge from the park, you must go down the entire mountain to the main road and then go back up the mountain to get to the lodge. I wouldn't recommend doing this in the dark or in bad weather. The restaurant was horrendous. Avoid it at all costs!
Wow.... What a beautiful location! Trucked in the WV hills you will find this lodge . While it has been there a while and you can tell that it is dated it is still somewhere I would go back. You can walk and walk and walk out in the clean air and enjoy the WV hills. Just amazing!Rooms: 3/5
The lodge is a great place and in a beautiful area! The staff always go above and beyond for anything you may need help with. The food at the restaurant is really good! But the rooms could use a major upgrade. The beds are horrendous and honestly quite painful in the mornings. A good mattress upgrade could do the place some good. Rooms: Upgrade the furniture and the mattress!
I didn't get the room I paid for. I paid for a room with French doors. Didn't get that. I was charged 20$ to check in at 1 pm on the 12th day of August. And when I got there at 1:35 pm my room was still not ready. And when did the hotel stop putting blankets in bed. All i got was 2 top sheets and a hospital like blanket in between them. The room was not clean. I didn't even take a shower the morning of the 13th because there was still someone else's hair in the tub. Sorry that is just nasty Was I offered a refund of the discount. No. So that's my last trip to Logan Lodge. Rooms: Awful. Not what I paid 162$ for 1 night. Not the room I requested.
We have stayed in the lodge several times in the past. Many great experiences. However, today, we went there for lunch. They had a taco bar and salad bar… I must confess.. I do not write reviews for any restaurants. This is a first for me. The food was absolutely horrible! I would never recommend chief Logan lodge restaurant. And I will never eat in the lodge again.
Hot tub was not hot. Set at 98 degrees when it should be 104. Also dinner was cold and rather tasteless served in convention center due to AC being down in dining room.Rooms: 5/5
Loved my stay at Chief Logan Lodge. It was surprisingly quiet at night even though the Lodge had a lot of guests. Carla, the sweet lady who made my reservation, was just so nice and so helpful. She allowed me to make a change to the room I booked after I realized that it was equipped for those guests needing handicap related facilities. She assisted me in every way possible and her patience and kindness was much appreciated. I would definitely stay there again based on my experience.
Staff was wonderful and helpful! Haven’t stayed here for a while but this trip was great! Rooms were very comfortable, perfect stay! An added bonus is the EV charging stations. I parked and had a full charge by the morning. If your in an EV, this is the closest place other than Huntington and Charleston to charge and stay.
Extremely clean place. Safe environment. Would definitely stay there againRooms: 5/5
The Lodge came highly recommended. We were excited to be able to get reservations there. I'm from Ligan but live in Ohio. We were in town for the funeral of my cousin. He always spoke highly of the lodge and all the amenities. We had toured the cabins a couple of years back and were highly impressed. The Lodge is beautiful sitting on top of a mountain. The rooms were your average hotel rooms. The pool area was the norm. The one wing was decorated for photo opts, but it was very cold. The venue had no heat in most of the areas.Heat in the rooms, pool area, and two upstairs private rooms, which we used for a family to get together after the funeral. The dining room could not be used to sit and eat, so back to your rooms, you took your food, or you sat in a lobby down the hall. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE LODGE STAFF!!! THEY WERE GREAT. THEY ALL PRETTY MUCH HAD HEAVY WINTER APPAREL ON BECAUSE THE HEAT WAS NOT WORKING. NO EMPLOYEE SHOULD HAVE TO WORK IN CONDITIONS LIKE THAT. Being on top of a mountain was bitterly cold along with the weather being - degrees for days along with the windchill factor. The state should have stepped up and sent in some heat torpedoes or something like that for the staff and guests.
