Dr. Burns office is the best! They have cared for my two children for years now. The receptionists are wonderful and it doesn't matter what Doctor or PA you see, they are thorough and their bedside manner is great, especially with kids which is hard to find. The medical assistants are so nice too and have the patience of a saint when dealing with my autistic 3 year old. When people ask about pediatricians around here, I always have and always will recommend Dr. Burns office.
We have been using UPMC pediatrics for the last 3.5 years. From the moment we entire the office we are welcomed with warm smiling faces from Sandy and the front office staff. The nursing staff and the providers are all compassionate and knowledgeable. My son feels comfortable going to appointments and loves to say hi to everyone he sees, and he is pleasantly greeted by the entire staff, not just the provider he is seeing that day.
Highly recommend ccp west Millcreek to anyone looking for pediatric care. They have always been very quick to getting my boys in when needed. All the staff there is very friendly. Especially our favorite nurse, Brenda. They are all rockstars!
We wanted a doctor who was closer to us, and we were impressed with Dr. Burns who saw us at Children's Med Express. Unfortunately his staff doesn't seem to care. We saw the PA who incorrectly took our sons weight, then casually tried to explain it away even though the incorrect weight would have put him in the lowest percentile for his age group. Completely dismissive of every concern we had. Our son drinks hypoallergenic formula because of sensitivities to both cows milk protein and soy, and we heard we could order formula through a doctors office it has been so incredibly difficult to find. We search everywhere in town Their response was to "check the drug stores." Which we have been doing. Then the nurse who handles prescriptions told us we can get it through WIC with the offices approval, so we reached out to our case worker who immediately sent them an order for his formula. Days went by and numerous calls to them fell on deaf ears. All they had to do was fill out four lines on this form and send it back to WIC. Every time we asked, we got responses that made us feel like we were somehow burdening them, even though this is their job and its what they told us to do. We were not satisfied with any aspect of the care we got here, and now we are trying to cancel his next check up and they haven't been answering their phones for days. Today their phone line doesn't even appear to work. If you care about your child do not take them here. There are so many better UPMC options in the area, it's worth an extra ten minutes driving time to actually be treated like a patient. They don't seem to care at all.
We are new to the Erie area, and previously had a CCP provider for our kids because of their excellent care and service. This office is no exception to the usual great care at any CCP office. Everyone is kind, accommodating, and patient. We’re so glad to have found another great pediatric office!
Horrible. What is the point in having sick appointments if you can't even get one? And their 10 minute policy is BS. I was literally pulling into the parking lot in the '10 minute' time frame and they still couldnt see them. I tried to check in whole I was almost their, as the last appointment I actually checked in early and was overlooked and lied too. I ended up leaving because I was waiting for 1.5 hours. This office has wasted so much of my work time it isn't funny.
Both of our children go to ccp west. The staff there are amazing. We have had nothing but great experiences with the team. The PA's and doctors are very knowledgeable and understanding. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Always been helpful for my son. We switched when Dr burns was on State St after a horrible experience with a previous pediatrician who allowed my son to have 18 ear infections in less than a year and still would not refer him for tubes. Dr burns actually sat for an extended period with me to listen to my concerns and my son finally got the care he needed. When he's been sick, I've never had an issue with same day appointments, and I've even had to call on a holiday and a doctor on call was so nice in handling my situation.
Discrimination. Vaccines are in fact not mandatory and I wouldn’t want my children to be seen in any place of business that chooses money for vaccines over the actual importance for their health and well being.
My child is sick. 101.3 fever. Called at 11 AM as soon as his fever appeared. No appointments available today.....take him to the ER or the pediatric emerigicare that opens at 5. Can I get an appointment for tomorrow? No, call back at 8 AM tomorrow to see if we can get you in. I’m not in medicine, but I am in customer service and you do what you can for your clients. These people do not care about their clients, who are children. #SAD
