We had to take our first visit to urgent care for our 10 month old. The whole process was simple and streamlined. The staff really cares and we were in and out in a timely manner with a satisfactory outcome for our child.
Went here yesterday around 5 pm. The wait time was about a total of 10-15 minutes to be seen by a nurse then maybe another 10-15 to be seen by a doctor. The staff was all great and treated our child very kindly. Would recommend this location. It was also very clean.
Warning even when there waiting room is full of visibly sick individuals, both kids and adults, they will not allow waiting outside. Seems like a great way for my sick child to get worse. Disappointed in them not taking better precautions to prevent spread of illness when there are simple solutions they were requiring be in place only a couple months ago.
My 2 y/o son hurt his arm a couple nights ago. It didn't look too bad, but it was swollen and he was favoring it in a way that we could tell it hurt him. As soon as he heard my wife and I say "doctor" he started crying and saying he was scared. We took him to CHOA Urgent Care despite his protests, and we're glad we did. Everyone there was so kind and sweet that my son quickly discovered he had nothing to fear. I don't remember everyone's names, but we're so thankful for the way the screening nurse, the radiology tech, Dr. Brown and "Miss Millie" treated this patient. He was so covered in stickers and laughing so much that he seemed to actually have fun even though the x-ray revealed he'd fractured his arm. They took really good care of him, and he's declared several times since leaving that "Miss Millie is my friend!" Not only did he get the best care possible, this team did it in a way that gave him the right perception of medical care so next time he hopefully won't have the same initial fears although we'd really like there not to be a next time of course. Sincerely, thanks to everyone there!
The wait time was accurate to the website & im actually glad I came to this area instead of my nearby Kennesaw CHOA. The man at the front desk was very kind and patient as well as the registration lady . This location does seem smaller than the others & my only issue was they have a second waiting room which is the “ Well waiting room “ from the looks it seemed closed so everyone was in the same lobby . BUT I wish they would have mentioned separating the “ sick “ kids virus kids who are just there for X-rays or anything non-contagious. As my child was the only infant in the waiting room not wearing a mask because of her age & all the other kids were coughing around her . This was a little bit unsettling for me . Luckily I didn’t have to wait over an Hour Once I was seen by the nurses & doctor it was very quick and I got the information needed for her! I would definitely come back specifically to this CHOA location . Seemed very calm & clean compared to others .
Like many kids, mine like to wait until the pediatrician's office is closed to need a doctor. I have been here several times in the past year with each kid, and I am always impressed by the staff and the care they provide. Be prepared to wait a little while, like most urgent care places, depending on how many others are in line before you.
Do not bring your kid here unless it is a last resort. We came for a simple check to confirm an ear infection and were charged almost $500 with a one line bill that said visit. When we called to ask for an itemized bill they said that is the only thing we were billed for and offered no other explanation other than to say they are a specialty clinic.
Came in at 6pm after my 18 month old ate something possibly toxic. They checked everything, called poison control, and we were in and out in less than 45 min. The doctors and nurses were incredibly kind and informative. Incredible experience.
Brought my daughter here for flu/virus symptoms. Arrive well before 11am to get first spots in line and expect multi hour wait times. Clarke, security guard, was kind to myself & daughter, ensured masking & visitor protocols were followed, and helped keep check in process in order. Lab services and X-ray facility at this location as well. Doctors were great, listened to parent, and created throurough treatment plan.
I'll drive out of my way to never have to take my children to this place again. My son fell off of his bike and knocked his two front teeth loose so we brought him here hoping that we would be sent to an emergency pediatric dentist it was after hours. We communicated this desire multiple times and the nurse said she would make calls to see if anyone would take him. A few minutes later, the doctor walked into the room and without even acknowledging me and my husband, tried to pin down my son and pull out his teeth. I had to SCREAM to get him off of my son. He turned around and laughed at me, saying that he had to pull them because there was no pediatric dentist available. When I asked if we could go to Scottish Rite to get an on-call dentist, we were told they didn't have one. I immediately called the Scottish Rite ER, who confirmed they absolutely did have one on call. We got out of there as fast as we could. That same on-call dentist at Scottish Rite recommended sedation + pain meds to extract the teeth because of the level of pain my son would experience otherwise. And that urgent care doctor was going to try to just pin him down and yank...with zero expertise and bucket loads of the arrogance.
