The MRI staff Eric and Alicia was absolutely incredible. My daughter was terrified of the machine, and they were so very patient and gentle with her. They answered her many many questions with kindness, and took all the time she needed to work up the courage. And the Urgent Care staff, as well as security, were also so kind to help us find our way. THANK YOU ALL!!!
We went there on a Saturday for my 3 year old son, my wife at the time was 9 months pregnant, we had a C-Section scheduled the following Monday. Apparently they had a policy that only allowed for one parent to accompany the child. They would not make an exemption for me just to help her with my son while they waited in lobby. For a hospital that claims to be family oriented they don’t really seem to care about the families.
Do NOT come here if you are uninsured or have a high deductible plan. Treatment for a simple broken toe, no re-alignment needed, simply 3 minutes of a nurse's time and 8" of tape: $745.25. I looked up the average price for that code and it was about $150. "Our prices are high because we're a pediatric specialty." Being a pediatric facility gives them license to inflate the bills by 500%, apparently. Our total bill was over $1300. Nice to know they are driving up the cost of everyone's health insurance. They also ask for donations repeatedly while you're on hold with them. I wonder where all the money is going?
I will not return back to CHOA., I felt iffy about my daughter diagnoses and the medication she was prescribed shes 4 months. labs first time medicine made her levels too high and this time it has been almost a month since her blood work was done and still no call back and no results ive made an attempt 4 times the nurse just keeps telling me she will send my message to the doctor. On top of that the doctors have terrible communication and notes in their system with the dosage that they gave my daughter
We brought my son here for an office visit due to persistent pain two days after a skateboarding fall. When I arrived, the desk person told me they are out of network for our son's health insurance and we chose to proceed as a cash patient. The staff took multiple x-rays of his arm and then he saw the doctor for less than five minutes and was diagnosed bruising. The bill was over $1,000. I told two ER doctor friends and they were shocked at the price for a non-emergency office visit. I requested an itemized bill and only then I saw they fraudulently charged for a "30-44 minute patient encounter." I found federal reimbursement rates online and paid CHOA those, plus 20%. They placed the account in collections anyway. I do not recommend this facility.
Wait in the lobby for 2 hours, wait in the room for 30 minutes. Doctor came and briefly talked in less than 5 minutes. She didn't find the ear infection my son had, so basically no treatment was made to my son's high fever 106 F. We went to my son's doctor office next day and they figured it out immediately. I wrote this review after paying $300 bill since $300 is a lot for such an experience.
Very personable and nice staff, but wait is too long. Why on earth would u not allow to sign up online. Could've waiting an hr and half more at home. What was supposed to be an hr and 15 min approximately has now almost turned into 2 and a half hrs...and we are still here waiting to see a doctor... I know weekends are super busy I get it, but allow us to not waste this much time up here just sitting.
This was a pleasant surprise. Feels brand new and I was so surprised to learn it is 5 years old. The radiology and laboratory is attached to the Urgent Care facility but is run as a completely separate facility with different staff, different services offered, etc. Our X-ray tech went above and beyond to keep the baby comfortable and relaxed. If you live inside the loop it is a little bit of a drive- but with free parking, depending on the time of your appointment the drive is light traffic and very manageable.
Tried to drop off my daughter’s sample here on a Friday evening around 5:30. The lady at the desk rudely pointed to a sign and said “lab closed” even though they’re supposed to be open until 7. I even called in before traveling here to confirm they were open until 7 due to the holiday and I was told they were. Wouldn’t recommend going here.
Waited for 3 hours to be seen..they expect you to sit in the waiting room with your sick child all this time .. my child got to tired and decided to run in the car and grab some more snacks and change.. while outside they finally call my name and the nurse catches an attitude and tells my family member who I left inside to listen to our number that she cannot wait 2 minutes for me to get back from the car.. yet I have waited for 3 hours ha? I think it is disgusting to be a pediatrics health center but your nurses are rude and nasty and don’t put into consideration that some kids have disabilities and they cannot sit for 3 hours.. let the child go sit in the car give me a courtesy call ..I would have appreciated that more.. no empathy from this care staff!!
