Childrens Emergency

Currently here with my son for mental health issues. What a joke been treated rudely by sitters majority. Some were nice but a male sitter in particular rolled their eyes right at me. When talking about my son. Nurses treated me more like a burden. I understand they are busy. Its a busy place. I'm scared and so is my son. No one ever comes by you always have to ask about what status is. Then I get miscommunication a different answer from every person. First day we were told he could have his tablet by day shift. Afternoon shift came in said he couldn't, take it away. My son has a meltdown of course he would. Then they had restrain him. I never get a straight answer. I got something from the gift shop drinks and during bad time I know that the room had to be cleared but the nurse up threw away 8.00 worth of drinks. Obviously not important issue just now money wasted. I know I'll get bills from here with no issues. I tried calling check on him got no answer, headed up there. Of course my son was tired and started lashing out but got told by a nurse better if I stay home not come late. I just get no clarification on this mental health process. Very frustrating and scary for everyone.

I originally posted a picture of a chair that my daughter was sitting on in the waiting room. I was so disgusted, I gave 1 star. But after my review posted, the staff was out within the hour to replace all of the bad chairs. I’m impressed!!! They really do care! Changing to 5 stars!!!

If I can give this place 0 stars I would I took my soon here twice for mental health issues and was turned away after waiting half the day both times a social worker saw us then a screener from the guidance center. I let them know I felt unsafe with my son returning home with me. I was belittled and made to feel like a unfit mother by the social worker who told me it’s my fault that my son was out of control because I spoiled him and he has no structure is what she told me and went into her personal life telling me about her children and how it turned out for her. Very unprofessional and not helpful at all. Also the screener said I was recording her on my watch and I let her know my watch doesn’t have a camara on it to record you and I don’t know how to work the function we are already being recorded I have no need to.

My daughter said, "I no longer care about my illness." All I want is to go back home. After waiting 5 hours at the Dearborn Emergency Department, Henry Ford Hospital, my daughter was transferred to the emergency department of this hospital to wait here for another five or six hours. My daughter had improved before she was discharged from the Dearborn Emergency Department. Now she feels worse than before cause of that long time waiting period. All this waiting is in vain until money is taken from the health insurance companies only.

My daughter been here since yesterday Tuesday July 25, 2023 at 2pm it's the next day Wednesday July 26, 2023 she has an IV in her hand that hurts. They said she is being kept overnight but she still has no bed. It is 2:51am the next day... This is ridiculous what kind of hospital is this!!!!

Absolute trash. We were here for over 6 hours waiting for a urine sample. The nurse apparently sent the sample to the wrong place. They sent us home literally without the urine results and told us if we don’t get a call tomorrow that means the result is okay. Will never ever come here again.

I’m so lost of words I watched children’s hospital go down and down from me being a child from being seen when I was sick from me being a adult and having numerous of children that’s needed to be seen when they are sick it’s definitely not a clean environment it’s supposed to smell like disinfectant something and then you don’t care about the germs spreading everyone it’s not air purifiers in the emergency room kids coughing , kids throwing up ,kids have fevers , just let alone the children that’s not feeling well have to suffer by waiting until rooms are available or for someone to take vitals!!! I’m very disappointed but I see won’t nothing happen if everyone don’t complain because this is so nasty and uncomfortable for those that’s not use to seen an emergency so unorganized and everywhere!!!

This place is horrible dirty, nobody wipe down nothing wait time was 6hr and front desk lady Laurie played Dr. And made us wait with her nasty attitude. She diagnosis my g son and said others were more important than SOB, he went to another er and started him on Albuterol immediately

I rushed my injured daughter to the emergency room, expecting, to be treated immediately. When we got in there, they got our info and told us to wait in the lobby. First of all, the lobby was very dirty that we have to avoid some things from stepping on them while looking for seats. After that, we have to wait almost 2 hours for vital check-up. After the vital check-up, they returned us to the lobby again to wait another 9 HOURS. That is a total of 11 HOURS wait in the lobby to get us in. That was from 10pm until 9am. During that time, I saw more than 4 families leaving without been helped. However, after remaining in the lobby for that absurd time frame, they called us to get in. IN WHERE? In the hospital hallway!!! There were seats next to the wall of the hallway and sleeves on top of them to put documents in. THE MAIN ROOMS ARE FULL. 11 hours waiting in the lobby with my 4 years old injured child and the rooms still full. Moreover, one of the hospital residents checked my child’s injury and then asked us to wait for the main doctor. The resident and the doctor were very nice and helpful. They did their best to help us. Of course, all that happened in the hallway. NO ROOMS. The lobby time frame was one hour and a half. All that happened on 10/24/2022 and 10/25/2022 I’m very disappointed that such important children hospital has this bad service. Hope they reconstruct their system seriously because children’s health and live depend on it. Sorry for giving the hospital 1 star
