China River in Beverly, MA

A very nice simple restaurant in Beverly, MA. Mostly for take out but you can dine in. Quick service and good portions for the price. Good place if you want to have a quick freshly cook meal. You can watch the chef too. A rare sight for a take out joint.

I'm sorry. But u can look at my other emails here and see I always leave a great review for China river. TONIGHT'S FOOD. WAS BLAH. NO SEASONINGS WHATSOEVER. I don't understand what's up. Bit I was looking forward to a dinner from my FAVORITE PLACE tonight. I take 1 bite of house rice and it's like wait a min. It taste no different then water. So I try the shrimp n lobster sauce . Same thing. Chicken wings and chic fingers. SAME THING. IT ALL TASTED EXACTLY THE SAME. LIKE WATER. WOW. WHAT A WASTE OF 27.95. SORRY CR. BUT IT'S THAT BAD NO STARS

Great for take-out only, as there's no real dining inside..just a couple of tables and chairs for waiting. Food is old school and really good. Combo plates and luncheon specials have large portions that can be easily shared by two .Food: 4/5

This establishment has become more interested in price gouging than they are extending appreciation, customer service, or courtesies. Condiments are supposed to be a courtesy. This restaurant has already increased their prices several times & those price increases should of factored in the price of their condiments. Despite these price hikes they are unwilling to extend a courtesy such as extra duck sauce regardless of how much you spend. Their food quality has also declined. I recommend China Jade or Gourmet Garden in Beverly, both offer delivery & won't argue with you over extra duck sauce. I have ordered from them for over 25 years & despite my willingness to spend close to $40 today they preferred to decline the business over giving one small side of duck sauce. No more.

China River is pretty much the only Chinese restraunt my family and I ever eat at. Their combination plates are especially a great deal. There really has ever been anything I've tried from there that I didn't like. To top it off the staff is always very polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

The Peking ravioli is the best around. Big portions and fresh food!

I got an appetizer platter for lunch - everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. It came with a lot of food - egg rolls are how I can judge a place, and these were crunchy and tasty. Again - everything was great.

The food is delicious, very quick service, very reasonable prices, it's a must go to for quick Chinese food takeoutFood: 5/5
