No matter how big or small the tattoo, we strive to create high quality, and style beyond our customers expectations.
I go by the name Chubb, a young Southern Artist who has the passion for Art and all forms of it. Even though my stage name is "Chubb Raps", I've recently found out that I can also do Tatts. Born in Miami, FL and raised in Charleston,SC since the age of 3. Being an artist was nothing new to me, since I started drawing seriously at the age of 7. I was like any kid that watched cartoons before school or weekend mornings; but for me... I felt like it was a challenge to recreate what I saw and tweak it to be my own. So in Elementary I was super attentive when it came to Art Class or some type of drawing contest. Middle School is when I started to truly just draw anything that was in front of me, this is when I also started using different mediums like paint on canvas, clay, negative color paper, and air brushing. For high school I started in Garrett Academy of Technology, which is a trade school for High School kids. Back when schools gave kids those electronic aptitude tests, this school actually used those to help place their students. I was first put into a Drafting course for my talents, but I personally spoke to the school and said I wanted to be in the Graphic Design course. The school granted my request and this gave me another medium to utilize... the computer. Even though I didn't get my diploma from Garrett Academy, I did graduate from Visions Christian Academy after my family moved to Summerville,SC. Of course being an Artistically Inclined teen I was in to tattoos. I honestly got my first tattoo when I was 17, without permission from my mother. She did catch me in the healing process and slapped it for me getting it; but she wasn't to upset with it because it was my own drawing I wanted on me. My first tattoo was my first name with a cross really big in the background. After that the flood gates were loose and getting tattoos were another way to express my art. Still I didn't want to tattoo anyone because I was afraid of making a mistake on someone. Plus I've seen some work people that was awesome and personally felt like I wasn't on that level to create as an artist on someone's skin. After enrolling myself into The Art Institute of Charleston in 2014 is when I decided to pick up a tattoo machine. All my life I've been receiving them but now I felt like it's now or never. I was offered to be a Artist at a Tattoo Party and being that I was already studying everything I could about doing tattoos properly; I accepted their invite. This was the start of my Tattoo Career. My confidence and talents of being a natural artist pushed me through a pretty successful night. From there I pursued it very seriously and learned as much as I could from all of my friends who did tattoos. They all gave me great tips and some equipment to work with; but I quickly learned that you have to stay consistent to truly progress in the art of Tattooing. And I was able to achieve this with the help of my classmates and instructors from Ai. While I was learning programs to better manipulate art on computers; I was able to execute what I learned in class and practice tattooing on my willing class mates. This led to me studying even more about tattooing and also investing heavily into my craft. Now graduating Ai with my acciosiates Degree in Graphic Design, I can peruse my new found Tattoo Career. Though this can be a very lucrative profession, I get more satisfaction in knowing that I was able to bring someone's idea to life on their body. Not to mention it's permanent and nobody really gets a tattoo to get it covered or laser removed. Tattoos are meant to be a lifelong commitment to mark or decorate your body, for whatever your reason may be. So I'm grateful that I can be Artist that produces what my clients want and more.
