Ohio's (& 1 of America's) Oldest and Continuously-Operating Sauces & Salsas Manufacture, since 1986, specializing in "FRESH OUT of the JAR" salsa flavors and chile pepper sauces. Pioneering chile-specific pepper sauces, Chuck Evans is the creator/manufacturer of the United States' VERY 1st Smokey Chipotle® Pepper Sauce, Salsa, and Barbecue Sauce. Chuck's innovative use and introduction of the chile chipotle/morita ("smoked red-ripe chile", primarily a ripened jalapeno) and introduction to the United States marketplace in 1989-1990 at New York's International Fancy Food Show sparked mainstream nationwide use of the chile chipotle spice, heretofore never utilized outside of Mexico. Chuck trademarked the very first phrase utilizing the word "chipotle" in the United States and co-authored The Hot Sauce Bible (1996) and Pepper Pantry: Chipotle (1997). The sole surviving exhibitor from the very 1st trade show devoted to spicy flavors, i.e., the National Fiery Foods Show (1988), Chuck Evans' MONTEZUMA Brand continues to prepare all of his chile pepper mashes, sauces & salsas in the manufacture's original Columbus, Ohio production facility.
