Much bigger than you’d expect. The small house is nice but the back metal building has a lot of historical items, most of which are within the last century. War memorabilia, lots of textiles, and home items. We missed the opportunity to go out back but we did look out back and the yard is probably 4-5 acres with all kinds of things to look at. For the area it is a very cool stop and look at place.
This is a big town museum in a small town. I just happened to notice it while camping across the street. I spent 1.5 hours here. If you really want to see everything indoors and out, plan on an hour. Oh, and did I mention it's free? I highly recommend this place.
The exhibits in the museum include a fascinating look into the 1940s. The Santa Fe trail displays depict Oklahoma's piece of that history. The architecture of the Cox House is very reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright's influence. The museum is definitely with the stop.
My husband and I were in Boise City for the long weekend, due to freight being slow on a holiday weekend. We walked up and explored the museum. What a fun and interesting excursion! Lots of interesting things to see in this museum! We spent 3 hours, and still didn't get to see everything! Well worth the walk and time!
It's a very nice museum. Very surprised by the size of it. Very big with lots of things to see. Just very grossed out by the dust and the bugs that were crawling on the displays. Was not sure what kind of bugs they were and didn't want them getting on me.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
On our way home to Colorado we drove right by it and my kids love dinosaurs. It was a Sunday so it was closed. Still cool though.
Such a neat place and so much to see! Well worth a visit!Wait timeNo wait
Good place to stop if you have kids - the tin man and cimmaronasaurus were definitely a hit. The museum looked interesting from the outside, but it only has limited hours. There's also a decent park across the street where the kids can run around and let of steam.
This place Far exceeded expectations! It was a cold windy day but it took 2 good hours to see everything ! I got hung on on this old AC Grader
This is really an incredible collection so well presented. There's something for everyone here. The house is incredible and the exhibits in the building are preserved pieces of history. Don't miss going outside to see the dust bowl house, one room schoolhouse, cars, and tractors. Incredible!
