This theater is actually amazing. You’ll see a lot of negative reviews about this theater not being autistic friendly but it’s NOT TRUE. The managers are EXTREMELY nice and would do anything in their power to make it a pleasing experience. A customer had an unfortunate incident happen on a busy Saturday night with a pack theater. The movie is open to the public and while everyone should be able to enjoy the movie, not all paying customers want to watch their movie while a young child is screaming during the show. I understand if your child is autistic, but don’t bring them to a busy Saturday night show where the crowd and large amounts of people could overwhelm them, and then get mad at the theater for just doing their job and giving multiple warnings asking them to calm down before being asked to leave AND REFUNDED. This theater is Amazing and KIND. One person blew a single incident out of proportion and now the staff are being threatened and the employees personal information has been leaked over one person creating a mountain out of a mole hill. I will continue to support this theater and all autistic children, but this single incident has created a terrible emotional impact. Everyone else in the theater deserved to enjoy their experience as well. I know for a fact that if someone had brought this to management attention the night of the incident, it would’ve been handled with grace and kindness. Creating a negative review over one incident when most of these people leaving reviews weren’t even there at that show that night, it’s fair or right. This theater followed policy and did the right thing. Having an autistic child does not mean you get special treatment at public theaters to allow screaming and yelling during the show. Any theater would have responded the same. Shame on the people leaving fake reviews over one Facebook post from a person who wasn’t even involved in the original incident.
My family and I always enjoy this theater. They have early movie times during the summer which is great for us. During the movie today there was an issue with the projector but the staff had everything up and running in less than probably 10 minutes so I thought nothing of it. They even made sure to rewind it where we were at before it went down. The staff then waited outside for us to offer us free movie passes for the next time we come back due to the slight inconvenience. They certainly didn't have to do this but this is the customer service experience we have honestly every time we go. The employees really go all out to make sure each customer enjoys their movie experience. It was an easy choice to select 5 stars for this place.
The best movie theatre in WV! They have a fantastic team of employees and very kind managers. I can't imagine anyone on this Cinemark's management team discriminating against anyone. I spent a lot of time at this theatre when I lived in WV, and I'm excited to visit it again next time I'm in the state! If you're thinking about review bombing this location based on a social media post, my recommendation is to stop in and actually see a movie or chat with the team first. Anyone can say anything they want to on social media, and one person's account of an event is rarely the reality of it. Spend a little time at this theatre and I'm sure you'll see that Cinemark has a wonderful management team, who do their best for every guest that walks through their doors.
Prices are insane & they still haven’t and probably never will get refills on there $50 snakes back. The employees are kind and apologetic I told them it’s not their fault! They don’t pick the prices! Previews finally stopped at 10:08pm movie was for 9:35pm!! That’s annoying!
Great quality sound, video, and seating. Be sure to note that the trailers start at the show time, with the actual film not starting for 15-20 minutes after the listed time slot. Better than being late, but if planning something afterwards it can throw off estimated run time.
Movie theater does not believe in supporting people with disabilities. They will kick out anyone that they feel does not confirm to the societal norm. Children with disabilities should be afforded the same opportunities as a NT child, but not according to this establishment. One person’s entitlement will cause years of detrimental regression, fear, and isolation in the child when there are LAWS directly related to making sure this does not happen. Educate your employees, get with the times, and learn the LAW.
Knowing how cool theaters usually are I wore jeans long sleeve shirt and brought a light jacket in the middle of July to watch Sound of Freedom only to find out the tem was VERY HIGH what felt to be about 76°. I was very uncomfortable and sweated throughout the whole movie. The volume was soo low that I had concentrate to hear what was being said and drown out the EXTREMELY loud movie in the next theater. I can pretty much tell you word for word what the other movie was saying. When I walked out Mid way thru to use the restroom I went in to 2 other theaters to see what there temp and sound level was, to which I found what I originally expected going into our movie LOUD CHILLY experience.
Always clean, rarely have issues with sound or picture quality. Bit too much with the pre-show ads, though. Enough it can delay show start by 10 min or more at times. Fix the ads problem an I'd give 5 stars.
Only downfall to this theater is the seating... although not uncomfortable..it would really be cool if they would upgrade like some have with the power recliner type seating...if they had that this would be the perfect theater...every other aspect of experience is awesome
Discrimination against children with disabilities while seeing a children’s movie. Sad to hear since I would love for this mall to thrive, but I can’t support a business that would kick out a little girl with autism for singing and dancing during The Little Mermaid. Do better, be better.
