This is my first movie theater experience in Raleigh. Also going to a theater to watch movie after a long time because of this pandemic. The experience is still same as the good old days other than the fact that mask is mandatory which is irritating, but it's good for our safety. The parking lot is huge and the recliner seat's were so comfortable. It was really worth watching Spiderman here.
Yesterday we decided to take in a new movie that the wife was looking forward to. We went to see Where the Crowdads Sing. It's a great movie and book It was sold out at the other theaters we frequented so we tried this one. The theater was easy to get to and had ample parking. In comparison to other theaters we go to this one seemed to look on the older side. No worries as we were ready to eat some popcorn and watch the movie. The person who checks your tickets was nice and the theater was literally steps away from the ticket check. Inside the theater we found our seats. We were surprised to find out the seating was two seater love couch recliners. No problem since we are a couple. However we also came to find that our seats, numbers 6 and 7 were beside each other but occupied different couch recliners. Yes my wife was to the left of me but there's a space between each two seater couch. This meant that we would be sitting beside someone else instead of us together on the same couch. The theater's website made no reference of this at all. I've went to other theaters that have this type of seating but specified it when reserving seats. We were not the only couples that was surprised to find this out. I heard a lot of confusion and a lot of apologies as people sat in the love seat besides someone else's theater date. Fortunately we got lucky. The seats beside us were not occupied so when the movie started we were able to rearrange ourselves so the couple beside us could sit together and we could sit together. The movie was enjoyable. The sound quality and picture quality were both great. They do need to change their website to reflect the type of seating arrangements.
Last night my mother and I went and saw Moonage Daydream and it was definitely an experience. Parking was fine, luckily it wasn't crowded. We were able to get seat tickets close together. As soon as we walked in we were told we can't bring our purses in because they were too big. Let me tell you, as a mom of 2, I've always had big purses. So I had to shove my keys, phone, bank card and feminine products in my pockets then take our purses back out to the car. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard - I'd rather you search my bag than tell me I can't bring it in. The concession stand employee was very friendly and pleasant. $23 for a large coke, large popcorn and candy - not horribly bad. However, the popcorn had no salt on it at all so of course I had to ask an employee for some behind the counter. When we found our seats in theater 9, they were so comfortable. But, seat G7 didn't recline so I had to switch. I'm glad this theater wasn't packed so I could switch with ease. I don't think the theater had been cleaned thoroughly because there was popcorn all under the seats, but I only saw that while walking up the stairs. On the website, it said "seat delivery" but when I went to look at tickets, it said seat delivery unavailable. I probably won't be going back to this theater again. I prefer the theater in Holly Springs, it was definitely a better experience.
Fast and friendly service at the Concession stand, not a long wait either! The theater was lit well, and the volume was perfect for The Black Panther movie.. We had about 16 of us, and we were well accommodated. However, the seats in the theater where we were need to be replaced. The black was worn off a lot of the seats. I’m sure they get a ton of use, so it may be a good idea to install real leather ones… Over all, it was good time. We did not get any food, only candy etc.
The food at Cinemark Raleigh seems to be slowly improving as they have re-opened their menu. Unfortunately there are a lot more quick-frozen and fried items, but they aren't terrible. The theatre itself was declining, but keeping it pandemic-level clean made a big difference and it is back to being a pleasant place to see a movie. Just not as grand as it used to be.
The people giving this theater 4 and 5 stars.... Are we talking about the same Raleigh Grande? If they don't remove these dirty seats and upgrade! Yeah I know renovating will cause movie prices to go to $40 a ticket, but it might be worth it for a cleaner movie going experience. Just clean up a bit...it use to be so nice here.
Definitely an older theater. Both my shirt and everyone with me had black pieces of the recliner all over the back of our shirts. New seats needed or at least fix the ones that are shedding or maybe the leather is cracking. Overall dingy feel. Definitely more of a younger crowd theater. I wouldn't pick this theater again.
Great option in the triangle area. Some theaters could use an upgrade, especially to worn out seats. But the overall A/V setup is great. Had a good time watching the second Avatar there. PSA - T-Mobile service is dead inside the theater, to the point where you can't retrieve your digital tickets.
Love the seating in this theater. Perfect for a date. If you can, select the bench seatlooks like 2 attached the middle arm rest raises up! Turns into a love seat, for closer sitting
A little background: been a movie club member since 2018 and my wife and I LOVE the Raleigh Grande. The people who work there are always nice and the food and popcorn is really good. Unfortunately, there was an issue with mice in the theatre. There was a mouse that crawled on my food tray and was crawling behind our seats. We told a manager and they were very kind and gave us free tickets for a future showing, but I have a tough time wanting to go back to a place with multiple mice complaints and nothing being done. Sadly we will be cancelling movie club and finding a new theatre to go to regularly.
