Such a beautiful historic theater. The screen is huge, the seats are comfortable. They show a wide variety of current, foreign and classic films. Highly recommended.
A great little theater, in the style of old-time movie palaces in miniature, with a variety of special presentations, including classic films, rare art-house films, and simulcasts from the Metropolitan Opera and other venues. Cinestudio is a local treasure.
Cinestudio is a gem in the city of Hartford. Trinity students are so lucky to have such a theatre right on campus. They regularly run excellent festivals and put on a steady mix of beautifully restored classics and new movies from around the world. I have many great memories here and look forward to going back next time I am in town.
I LOVE CINESTUDIO! In fact, its presence influenced my decision to move to Hartford. Terrific movies, awesome atmosphere, friendly service. Thank you from the top, bottom, and middle of my heart.
An absolute gem in Hartford CT on the campus of Trinity College. Huge screen and a balcony. Great sound system. Been entertaining this community for decades! Support local organizations.
Just returned from seeing No Ordinary Man. It was excellent and provided great insight into the world of trans men. As an aside, my spouse and I have been attending outstanding films at the Cinestudio since 1974. A few years ago we bought a chair in our favorite place in the Balcony. Although Judy passed away on July 4th, 2020, this chair now memorializes her with a beautiful plaque: "Natalie and Judy Kiss in the Balcony, July 14, 1974." Many thanks to Linda, Jaime, Shane and all Cinestudio volunteers who continue to provide competent efficient service. Best wishes for continued success. Natalie Campbell
Nice theater. Lots of comfortable seating. Balcony and lower level seating. Very large screen. I actually felt too close to the screen sitting in the 2nd row balcony, causing lots of head and eye shifts to watch the film. I also felt like the sound was a bit too loud. Could be personal preference or where I was seated but, it muffled some of the speaking for me. Tough time of year to get it right but it was warm in the theater almost too warm but tolerable. Over all I liked it and on Sunday night we had no difficulty parking. This theater is in the middle of the trinity college campus. They do offer a 2$ senior discount. Not sure of the age for that, best to ask. Safe location, fairly easy access. Was our first time here and GPS only delivers to the general location.
What a beautiful theater. Just like a circa 1940's movie hall with a scalloped curtain going up, it has a balcony and a larger screen than modern multiplexes. Seating is comfortable, not stadium though. It was easier to get to from I-84 than I-91 and wasn't crowded on a Saturday when all the Trinity students are gone for the summer. Looks like they have a lot of great events on their calendar.
Sound was excellent..the theater is beautiful inside...seats comfy...only issue was could not locate elevator
My favorite theater in the Hartford area, hands down! Beautifully refurbished a few years ago. It has a balcony!! The only one in greater Hartford. Diverse and interesting array of films. No concession. It sits in the middle of the Trinity College campus. Ample parking within a pleasant 150-200 yard walk.
