If it was possible I would give 0 stars. I walked into this Circle K with my friend yesterday and I instantly felt uncomfortable. When I looked at the workers I was constantly being stared at from the moment I walked into the store but my friend was not being stared at the way I was. I am an African American and my friend is Caucasian. I didn’t really think anything of it until I started looking around for a snack. I would walk to another aisle and the workers were staring at me, as if they thought I was going to steal something. There was a customer at the counter and a worker right in front of the counter standing by the customer. Another worker was behind the counter checking the customer out. I am not sure what was said but the moment I started walking to another aisle, the customer AND the worker in front of the counter turned around and they were just staring at me. They looked at me at the exact same time. One worker in particular I felt was racial profiling me. As soon as I left the store she watched me walk ALL THE WAY TO MY CAR! I walked back into the store because I was very upset at the way she was looking at me. She was not looking at my friend the way she was looking at me. I walked back into the store and asked if there was an issue. I voiced to the women that I did not appreciate the way they were staring at me as if I was trying to steal something! The one worker in particular started getting an attitude with me when I told her she was RACIAL PROFILING me. The ignorance she showed towards me was so disgusting. I am shocked to how the women treated me mainly the one in front of the counter. I cannot believe this is what I had to go through at this convenience store. I have never ever felt so uncomfortable being in a Circle K in my life.
Store pretty well stocked all the time but most items expensive as is gas. But occasionally the cheapest gas in Herrin.
Its always clean and I like the soda club!
Very nice staff. Clean Station and good business practices. Recommend for food and fuel. Handicap accessible. Sanitizer and gloves at pumps at all Circle K. Covid compliant.
