Description

Citrea Restaurant and Bar is located on the first floor of Chenango Place, on the riverwalk overlooking the Chenango River in downtown Binghamton, NY. The grand opening is tentatively scheduled for February, 2015.

Citrea is a Mediterranean inspired restaurant featuring a woodfire pizza oven, small plates, and a full bar. We will offer exciting brunch options on Saturdays and Sundays, including bottomless mimosas.

Owners Vicky Alt and Jimmy Valdez are a husband and wife team, with years of experience working with top culinary talent in Washington DC. Vicky, a Binghamton native, is excited to be back in her hometown and to be a part of the thriving downtown Binghamton community. Co-owner, Allen Alt, is a long-time Binghamton resident and physician, who is looking forward to his upcoming retirement and starting this next chapter as a restauranteur.

As an italian, i can say that this restaurant serves a well done pizza margherita. This is made with a good tomato sauce, fresh and tasty mozzarella and good dough in a wood fired oven and it's so delicious, like the italian one. The other pizza was also good, but to me, simple dishes, when well done, are more enjoyable. There was a broad choice of craft beers, so one more plus point. The waitress was very kind and caring and will take good care of you. People in birghamton, feel obliged to try this place!
First time visiting this location. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. We had some Brussel sprouts as an app which were amazing I am not a fan of them normally. Our table shared a couple pizzas which were all very good. They were freshly made, no two pizzas were the same.
Love coming here for brunch, it was such a nice laid back place! The Polenta french toast was awesome and so was the Bongiorno pizza! Our waiter was very friendly, it was overall a great experience.
Dinner and lunch pizza here has always been perfect and a good value. From traditional pizzas to gourmet toppings I have always been happy with the food. Today was the first time I had brunch and it was amazing. I will certainly return to try more of the menu!
Great for small plates. This place is ushering in the much-needed change that this Riverside strip needs. Well-stocked bar great drinks and inspired plates. The brunch on the weekends is great if not a little crowded. The Woodfired Pizza is thin, crispy, and super flavorful. This would be A 5 star review if they knocked a dollar or two off of the price of each of these small plates.
Fabulous adventurous, delicious brick oven pizza with great staff and if you sit outside: a view. Park in the public parking garage and walk toward the river.
Outdoor dining is a big plus... inside was freezing cold. Not a big fan of the homemade ketchup that they are so proud of. Hand cut fries were limp and greasy. Our pizza however was delicious and crust was outstanding. This was second visit and will probably go back again.
Great atmosphere, awesome local brews, and better pizza. Wood fire pizza done supremely is hard to beat. We sat at the bar, and the Service was excellent. Workers seemed to really enjoy being there, which made the experience even better. Will be going back to try out the weekend brunch specials and the alluring 'endless mimosa.' Why more bars haven't jumped on the river front openings on this strip, I do not know. None the less, cheers!
This is a really good restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly and was able to make some good menu suggestions. We came for bottomless mimosas which was very reasonably priced. It was $14 for bottomless mimosas with the purchase of food. The food was very good and came pretty quickly. There was no wait for a table when we went
Great environment and food! Had some of the best tasting pizza you could get around the Binghamton area. Our server Caitlin was also super nice and accommodating. Would definitely come again!
