First the houseless were there and playing music.. so they fenced it off. Just to gentrify it and have non melanated artist perform on the side that's not fenced off. Very seattle like. * trash* And whoever is selecting these off beat bands .... stop. * trash*
Full of seagulls, they just finished the road on the left but it's still all broken. This is homeless Central where everyone sleeps and eats and it is drug-infested
It's not that great of a it's all concrete and just a few trees. A water display of a creek in the woods I guess with a pool of water at the bottom of the creek . It starts in front of the Police department . It goes across the street to City Hall through the bldge. Down several pools and and a cascading waterfall, there are some water geysers set in the ground. It's pretty and thought provoking during the summer and the water is running through it. In other months of the year it is not much to look at. Sorry
Thanks for letting friends of mine put their tents up... Really wish your homeless case managers would be more proactive in tackling the problem and not just pushing them out of sight and out of mind. Where there are problems, there ARE solutions. Listen to the people... Don't just waste money conducting studies and reporting about it... The answers are right in front of your faces!
Walked through the park to get to my destination. We witnessed homeless people beating each other up and then got harassed by several other homeless individuals who tried to follow us to our destination. Would not recommend to my peers 0/5
So this year they added lights that illuminate the park like day time. Seattle has done this historical site justice. Would like to see more like free concerts this next summer! But its over run by the homless and society needs to take it back and they are on their way.
Currently fenced off to prevent campers from returning and give grass & trees a chance to recover.
you can watch people from every walk of life from here...homeless shelter near, and the King Co court system employees and people, lawyers rushing to get their day in court. Its one of my favorite places to people watch, I am never bored while relaxing here in "crack park"....
This is a central location to 3 or more shelters in the downtown Seattle area. If you are involved in charity work, it's a great place to set up some tables to help the homeless in the area. The park needs more seating.
Live music in the afternoon, but a lot of dirty looking people drinking and doing stupid things on the only benches. I had to borrow a chair from the park concierge to sit and enjoy the guitar.
