On behalf of the TJ Woods family I would like to take a moment and drop a line to the four officers who came to my house in the a.m. of April 1 on a domestic dispute call. They handled the situation professionally did a thorough investigation of the situation handled it without incident and I just wanted to say I appreciate so much the job they did and the job they do for the community. I know their job is difficult I know they have to put their lives on the line and that certainly could’ve been the case if it hadn’t been diffused in the professional matter of which they did it so that being said from the bottom of my heart I’d like to thank the gentleman who came to my house and helped defuse the situation. With the greatest admiration and respect TJ Woods Stonetrace subdivision Bartlett Tennessee
Thanks for keeping Bartlett Safe!! We all residents of Bartlett love you!! Been here 15 years now, and not a single problem
Today my car broke down at the corner of Yale and Summer. Officer Gary Mack and a Captain that sadly I missed his name came to our rescue. I had my 86 year old mother in law with me, she has alzheimers , my grand daughter who is 5 , my sister, and my son. It was horribly hot. They were AMAZING. Not only did they get our car out of he intersection after jumping the vehicle off, they offered us a ride to sub station to wait in the ac. We declined as I did have help on the way. While we were waiting for our help Officer Hooper also stopped and offered his assistance . Thank you, all of you for your kindness, generosity, and over all your help. You three gentleman were our hero's for today. Once again, I sadly didn't get the Captains name but I would love for him to be acknowledged for his out of the way help he extended to us. What an amazing department you have there. A thankful citizen
Called to file a report and they said they'd come out but it's been 6 hours now and nothing. I guess they don't take to serve very serious.
They keep Memphis out of Bartlett, so don't complain if you got pulled over for going 15 over, or failing to stop completely at a stop sign, or having a brake light missing. They may let it slide in Memphis, but they joke around here in Bartlett. If you want to be a citizen here, you better obey the law and show some respect to your community. The Bartlett Police Department has my full support. Been a resident here since I was in the crib.
Took two car seats in to be inspected. Friendly greeting by clerk, prompt service by a very nice officer unfortunately I did not ask his name, and we were reassured that our new grandchild would travel safely. We were happily and satisfactorily on our way within minutes. Extremely pleased with the entire experience!
I began teaching at Ellendale in 1976 when it was in what is now Singleton Community Center. Most of my 32 year career was spent as a fifth grade teacher at Altruria Elementary. In 1983, I bought my first house near Altruria so that my children would be attending a Bartlett area school. My husband and I have lived in our present home in Bartlett for 21 years. We attend church here, do much of our shopping here... Why am I sharing this? The men and women of Bartlett Police Department have always "been there." From teaching children about Safety and DARE to reminding my children as teenagers of a safer way to drive...yes, speeding tickets...but also with respect and a conversation. From kind hearts when my dear neighbor passed away to helping us find our lost dog. These heroes put their lives on the line for us every day. God bless them, Metra Reid
I was pulled over Saturday morning at 12am headed to get baby water. The office stated the reason he pull me over was failure to use the far left lane while he was pulling someone over in the far right shoulder. He grabbed my phone and hung it up after I tried calling my fiancé because I am pregnant and scared in which he knew also, he snatched me out of the car grabbed my wrist and detained me outside in the cold for two hours. I was scared hungry and had no idea what was going a on. He told me he was holding me for no license and then switch to marijuana aroma after he was done using the no license hold. Three more officers drove up Taunting me because I was being held and pleading to drink or eat something. I was then told I was going to receive a ticket but instead he gave me a processing date and misdemeanor citation. I am beyond horrified of Bartlett police system and specifically officer 257 and 103. I will be taking further action.

The process is extremely slow and random. There's a line that goes out the door. You wait to pass through the metal detector. This line only moves according to thpace that the next line moves. The next line that you wait in is giving your name to an officer that sits at a desk who checks your name against a docket. Then he puts your name on a piece of paper and puts it into a stack, according to your charge on the ticket. There are about 5 stacks. Then you're told to have a seat in the court room. A different officer comes out to collect the stacks according to the pace that the lawyer inside the courtroom is moving. People with lawyers take priority. People with suspended license tickets are the ABSOLUTE LAST to be called. All costs must be paid that day. If you need time to pay, you're allotted up to 30 days. BUT NOT ON SUSPENDED LICENSE TICKETS, it all has to be paid at once OTHERWISE you have to come to court every Wednesday until you've acquired your license.
