Situated north of the Twin Cities in Anoka County, Blaine has quick and easy access to both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Interstate 35W and Highways 10 and 65 run through the city, making the city attractive to both business and residential development. Blaine is one of the fastest growing cities in Minnesota, annually ranking atop new home construction lists.
Blaine City Hall, constructed in 2002, is centrally located in Blaine at 10801 Town Square Drive. In addition to serving as the city's administrative home, it also is home to the Blaine Police Department. The Public Works Department's headquarters, which was reconstructed and expanded in 2009, is located nearby at 1801 101st Ave. NE.
Blaine is home to several retail shopping areas, including Northtown Mall. The National Sports Center, the world's largest amateur sports facility and the state's most visited sports destination, is also located in Blaine, as is the TPC Twin Cities, Minnesota's only PGA Tour golf facility and host of the annual 3M Championship.
