We had recently watched a kids TV show about firefighters and then decided to show the kids the local station #5 on the SW side. We thought we would just look through the windows to see the fire truck and look at the building. The fire captain and another fire fighter came out to greet my 3 year old twins, told them about the fire truck and what fire fights do, let them look around the fire house, and gave them gifts to remember our trip to the fire station. The kids loved the junior fire fighter stickers they got and could not wait to get home to color in the new coloring books they got from the fire fighters. They took their new stuffed animals to bed with them for nap time. My husband and I were so excited to see how kind our local fire fighters are and that our girls got to meet them. If we ever have a fire emergency, our family knows we will be well taken care of by our wonderful fire department.
