Do the police any where "protect and serve"? Yes. They protect the government hierarchy, and serve their local benefactors. They hurt people, send people to jail for victimless offenses like drugs, and do everything in there power to uphold nonsense laws. Police around Centralia do what they want with little consequence. I was questioned in both accounts and no formal files were charged, and a spouse abuse rate that would shock grizzled veterans. Have you ever felt paranoid when a cop is driving any where near you? That's not paranoia that's Stockholm's syndrome telling you to obey or suffer the wrath of daddy's boot. I've been pulled over in the bad part of a neighborhood, because I was "white in a black neighborhood"cop said that. I pushed my car to a gas station with five other peopleI ran out of gas once and a cop saw us. He pulled us over after we left the store. He said he was "unsure I had insurance" he wasn't even worried there were to many in the car. Nope he needed to write himself a ticket. Which he didn't. I had insurance. It's not unknown that cops do unreasonable things, I need to know why do we put up with it? All cops are obviously bad. If there were good cops in a dwindling city of 12000, don't you think things would change?
Worried about the keyboard warriors. How about a twice deployed Army veteran saying your force, and yourself, is a soup sandwich. Mr. Flanegan acted in rights and you decided to arrest him because he was going to make a complaint? I'm guessing this is the kind of police force who thinks they're not civilians.
Saw the video of Officer White, the entire department should be ashamed. He should be dismissed immediately at the least and possibly have kidnapping charges filed against him.
This Billy White needs to be fired and prosecuted for his actions. He’s extremely dangerous and he’s going to be spending lots of taxpayers dollars for lawsuits!
Don't help a fellow citizen in need or YOU will be arrested. Ask to file a complaint and they'll conjure charges to throw at you in retaliation. Horrifyingly terrible department. A disgrace to Illinois

I just called their department about the "officer" White issue. Still a bad attitude - it seems they haven't learn a thing. The funds for this department should be DRASTICALLY cut.

I think we should boycott the city of Centralia. Not every body is spineless and changes what they believe I guess most people up there are afraid. CSA forever
