Traffic cops. Good for nothing else. Speed traps are their forte…set ridiculous speed limits, then hide at bottom of hills and prey on people crawling off to work. Now, when you need them for something serious they’re clueless or will flex on you. I pay your salary…you are to protect and serve.
There’s a reason Germantown has a reputation as one of the best cities in the state. Any good city must have a good accompanying police department. Thank you GPD!
I wish I would have paid more attention to the Germantown officer that was kind enough to help me change a flat tire on my Audi today at 5 pm near the intersection of Poplar Ave and Forest Hill Irene. I think he was stationed at the Fire station newt the intersection. Please give him my heartfelt thank you. What dedication and commitment. Thank you. Fa
ITS TIME TO SUE THE CITY OF GERMANTOWN FOR VIOLATING THE DUE PROCESS AND EQUAL PROTECTION RIGHTS OF THOUSANDS OF POOR TENNESSEE RESIDENTS. IF YOU HAVE ANY TRAFFIC WARRANTS YOU SHOULD READ THIS.. See Below The City of Ferguson, Mo and many other municipalities around the country are being sued in Federal Court because they violated the 14 Amendment "Equal Protection Rights" of their residents by throwing people in jail for being too poor to pay traffic tickets. The Supreme Court case being used is one out of Texas. The U.S. Supreme Court has said that a State or Municipality does not have the right to "First Impose a fine" for a traffic offense or a crime and then "Change that Fine to Jail Time" for those too poor to pay. Traffic Attorneys understand that many people are being jailed for being poor in Germantown but they are too 'greedy' to fight on behalf of the indigent and the courts are too 'corrupt' to even care. The case where the U.S. Supreme Court made jailing a poor person ILLEGAL is below. Just Google: U.S. Supreme Court TATE v. SHORT, 401 U.S. 395 1971 401 U.S. 395 TATE v. SHORT CERTIORARI TO THE COURT OF CRIMINAL APPEALS OF TEXAS No. 324. Argued January 14, 1971 Decided March 2, 1971 "the same constitutional defect condemned in Williams also inheres in jailing an indigent for failing to make immediate payment of any fine, whether or not the fine is accompanied by a jail term and whether or not the jail term of the indigent extends beyond the maximum term that may be imposed on a person willing and able to pay a fine. In each case, the Constitution prohibits the State from imposing a fine as a sentence and then automatically converting it into a jail term solely because the defendant is indigent and cannot forthwith pay the fine in full." The U.S. Supreme Court has stated it is illegal to change the fines to jail time for the poor because it would create a second system of justice or punishment for the poor vs the rich or the wealthy. The courts tap dance on the civil rights of the poor ALL THE TIME and its time for the POOR to stand up and fight back. Nothing will happen unless folks fight back. The courts are driven by MONEY. The judges are just REVENUE COLLECTORS for these cities and municipalities. They don't care about the poor. You must LET THE COURTS KNOW you are indigent. ALL THE WAY INDIGENT. They cannot jail you if you are too poor to pay. The court staff that tells you that you can 'either pay or sit it out' or IGNORANT OF THE LAW..... Someone from Germantown Police Department has bullied Google into removing this review. Look how quick google ran to take down this review. They don't want the poor to know what parts of the law actually help them. DEAR GOOGLE.. I HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COURT.
Simply the best police department. Thank you GPD for all that you do. As a Germantown resident, my family and I feel safe due to the professionalism and care of our great police department. Thank you.
We are safe in Germantown. Follow the laws, including the operation of of your vehicle, and you will be great. Thank you, law enforcement, for your service.
I feel safe living in this city! Thank you…. Germantown police department!
I am in town visiting my 91 year old grandfather who is ill. I took him to the emergency room today. I was on the way home to get him the things he needed and was pulled over. I was speeding but was rushing to get back to him. I explained to the officer my situation he proceceded to take my information. After about 15 minutes in the car he came back with a ticket. The officer name is M.Evans. I cannot speak for the whole Germantown police department but couldn’t beleieve this is the type of care they have for there community.
