City of Manistee Fire Department was founded and acknowledged by Manistee City Council in 1869. The current location at the corner of First and Hancock Streets was built in 1888 opening in May of 1889. We are proud to be housed in the Oldest Continuously Active Fire Station in the State Of Michigan and we are 11th oldest in the nation.
It is the mission of the Manistee City Fire Department to preserve life and property, promote public safety, and foster economic growth through leadership, management and proactive actions, as an all risk life safety response provider.
