In 1854, when the City of Omaha was designed, four city parks were included in the plan. Omaha has continued to place a premium on reserving green space and providing superb facilities for the city's recreational activities. Omaha's park and recreation system is envied by many communities of similar size throughout the country and we are committed to become even better.
Our staff is committed to being accessible to you through our website and providing high quality facilities and recreation programs that everyone can enjoy. Please check back often and discover why Parks and Recreation is "Growing Fun" in Omaha.
The mission of the Omaha Parks, Recreation, and Public Property Department is to provide and maintain a comprehensive park system, manage public property, and offer opportunities for the citizens and visitors of the Omaha community to encourage a healthy, positive lifestyle that is essential to the quality of life.
