Description

The City of Seminole Fire Rescue Department is led by Fire Chief Heather L. Burford. The Department is divided into various sections including; Administration, Operations, Emergency Medical Services, Training, Life Safety Services and Fleet Maintenance Sections. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Fire Operations personnel are divided into three shifts each lasting twenty four hours. The Department operates from four fire stations providing comprehensive public safety services that include emergency fire, rescue, hazardous materials mitigation and medical services, fire prevention and code enforcement, and public education. In addition to providing emergency services for the City of Seminole, the City contracts with; Pinellas County for emergency fire protection and EMS services to the unincorporated area surrounding the City, the Bay Pines Veterans Administration complex, and the Towns of Redington Beach, North Redington Beach and Redington Shores through joint Seminole/ Madeira Beach fire protection Interlocal agreements. The Seminole Fire District’s service area covers 25 square miles and protects approximately 80,000 full time residents and an additional 8,000 tourists and daytime workforce. The Department funds 74 full-time employees and staffs four advanced life support (ALS) fire engines, one 105 ft ladder truck, an ALS support heavy rescue vehicle and a District Chief vehicle on a 24-hour a day basis. A hazardous materials vehicle, a brush fire fighting vehicle and a number of support vehicles are staffed as needed. All field personnel and officers are State of Florida certified firefighters and are either EMTs or paramedics

The City of Seminole Fire Rescue provides the following services to our community:

Basic CPR and First Aid Classes

Variety of safety related presentations at no cost. Presentations vary in length depending on the topic and audience size and age. Please allow at least three to six weeks when requesting to schedule a presentation.

Many non-emergency public services including smoke alarm installations, pool safety inspections, and home fire safety inspections.
