The City of Wellington (population 8,057) is located approximately 23 miles south of Wichita at Exit 19 of I-35. Wellington is the county seat of Sumner County (population 23,787) and is located approximately 10 minutes south of the Kansas Star Casino and Equestrian Events Center, the newest entertainment destination in south central Kansas.
