City Park Pavilion

The Parkersburg City Park has always been my favorite go to place to take walks or even just to find a bench and sit with my dog Mandy. It’s a beautiful place all around. I’ve lived here since my early teens and I still don’t have a favorite area of the park, it’s all so wonderful to be in. To walk around, to see all the other people, and also I really love the pond, maybe that’s because my Mandy loves that the best, especially when the ducks are swimming around. There’s more people at the pond too with their fishing and sitting on benches with their own dogs. There isn’t any other local parks I enjoy more than this one.

It's a very good city park for a small city. There are plenty of sitting areas around the pond. Fishing in the pond is relaxing. There are a good number of monuments. My kid loves them. Police substation is also there. Seems to stop unauthorized activities.

Beautiful day for a car show. The park has a lot to do and the restored fountain is incredible. It is well worth the drive from anywhere near or far. Attractions include tennis courts, water park, waking and bike path, amazing restored fountain at entrance.

I was.amazed at this park! There truly is something for everyone! While visiting the city, it was suggested to my husband for a good run. It was indeed. The outer perimeter is about 1 mile and kind of weaves through the park. While he ran, I entertained myself with the excellent memorial park for our American service men and women which was very respectfully and interestingly done. Then there was the adorable amphitheatre, the peaceful fishing pond, the pool and wave park, the garden club corner, the wooden bear statues, the ancient-looking bird bath, the playgrpund, the dedication trees, etc. I had a facinating time here as did a good part of the community. It was well-maintained and quite a few but not too many people hanging out. What a blessing to the community!

We were visiting West Virginia for a Baton Competition. It was really nice to drive around and take in the scenery the day before with some of our organizations reigning Royalty. We found Parkersburg City Park and found it to be the perfect place for pictures. Beautiful surroundings, very well cared for and maintained.

Saw more squirrels in 3 hours than I have in 3 months. Absolutely a beautiful place. Wish I had the forethought to take some pictures.

Good place for a brisk walk or jog in the morning. Several locals are "regulars", and will be friendly. As the day goes on, it gets more crowded with bicyclists and drivers, so I prefer the 7-8 AM slot. The fountain has been reconstructed and looks very nice. Improvements have been made to the swimming area to add a water play place. It's hard to tell how exciting it is from the outside. It's a hub of local activity - baseball games, carnivals, festivals of all sorts in Non-Covid times. Even today, there was a socially-distanced fitness class, a pickleball game, and some fishing going on.

Great place to exercise, always something going on there. Nice Christmas light display for drive thru viewing.
