I took my client out for early lunch on a Saturday after she bought her first home and left the closing table @ Classic Settlement in Pike & Rose. My Salmon popovers were fantastic! My son had the French onion soup big serving that I took home and had for lunch the next day. My daughter and client had the City Perch Breakfast and they loved it as well. Service was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. Oh but that VIEW! I’ll definitely be coming back to check out their happy hour heard the drinks are amazing too!
I’m giving my experience at City Perch three stars because there have been a lot of changes to their menu, which are not reflected in the pictures as well as menu available. However, if I was rating the service - I would give it 4.5 stars. Our server was super helpful, despite me being disappointed with the menu that I found; and she was also very attentive with our table. The food presents well in the pictures, but the taste really fell flat for me.
I went awhile ago, but I still remember my time there. I always look forward to trying new restaurants to visit. I have mixed feelings for City Perch, however. Pretty good location over the movie theater and spacious. I had about three different servers, which made it confusing who to ask when I needed something. I sat in a small, quiet corner until it wasn't so quiet. They sat a medium-sized party of cackling women next to me. . . . I ordered a Perch Birdy, which looked and sounded like a fun-good drink, but meh, the french onion soup to warm me up was tepid. But it took so long to get to me, I ate it anyway. I was starving. The lady who sat near me, at another table, I could overhear her send hers back. The chicken wings were actually not bad. I do not know what the sauce was, but it was delicious. For the main course which also took forever and a day, Braised Short Rib served with mashed potatoes, which were luke-warm, but eaten with the rib piping hot, it balanced out. I'm not sure why service was so slow as it was in the middle of the day on a cold rainy Saturday in March. Was not busy and had a decent amount of staff. So what was the hold-up?? All-in-all, it was mediocre at best.
This establishment serves the best cocktails I have ever had and has a gorgeous outdoor seating area, along with the very nice indoor seating area too. The bartender was friendly and gave me a good experience. The outdoor seating area seems to be mainly protected from the sun. They have a happy hour food menu too! This is the perfect spot for a date! It is located in the same area as the iPic theater.
Where do I begin ! This is most certainly a new local favorite. Went for a date night out and I absolutely loved this place. Friendly staff and adjacent to the IPIC theater. I was able to partake in happy hour while waiting for my other party to arrive… $7 margaritas!!! Can’t beat it…and it was actually strong and tasty! We ended up being seated and our server Brandy was amazing, knowledgeable and very untuned with their extensive options. She was patience as well my date wasn’t too sure of what to get but Brandy helped us with offering some really good choices! We started with cocktails YUM! A Rum Punch and El Corazon both were very tasty and moving on to those delectable lemon pepper wings and cornbread ! Our entrees includes shrimp “n” grits and the cavatappi spinach!!!! All were spectacular! I will absolutely be returning to try more of the menu !
The food was delicious. We got the perch burger, fries, bread plate, smore cake, and red velvet cake. All were so good. The one bread that seemed like a hawaiian roll was alittle over done but the biscust and corn bread were mouth watering. The burger was cooked well and the sauce was good. Fries were thin but really tasty. Two things i didnt like: The Norma Jeane drink was garbage. I dont believe it had any liquior in it at all. The service was great at the beginning but as it got less busy the service got slower.
the food was great and the service was amazing too. with they opened a little longer. the kitchen closes at 9pm, so plan accordingly.Dine in: Yes
City Perch is wonderful. I initially came for brunch and ended up having dinner. The staff was wonderful and allowed my friends and I an opportunity to catch up while checking on us every so often. Great food and thanks to Michelle and Phlip for providing great food recommendations and amazing service. I will definitely be returning.
Service! Service! Service! This location has beautiful scenery & atmosphere, but where they fall short is service. Party of 9 who withstood a 3 hour long dinner with 1 round of drinks, missing orders & complete incoherence of notes for orders. Food was decent, but I can only imagine after waiting an hour to order & another hour receive the food. We waited around so long that anything we ordered was going to satisfy our anxious bellies. This place is best suited probably for smaller parties 4 or less, but for the amount of $$ you might be spending. The service is completely absent at least for us. Experience waiters should be required when you are handling large parties 6+. Just a thought for management to strongly consider in the future. Long story short! Don’t plan a birthday celebration here. Our entire group was unsatisfied with the treatment of this establishment.
Been here a few times now to eat and spent New Years eve here to drink. Good food, fair prices. Drinks are nicely done. Sometimes bar service is slow because they are understaffed and usually only two to serve the bar and the whole restaurant which is frustrating but I get over it pretty fast with how good the drinks are. They have a killer espresso martini. The lobster mac and cheese is legit.
