Great atmosphere. We had a problem with our order and they made it right and fast. I like this place because things change and a few items get added and taken away regularly. Bathrooms are clean and service is exceptional. Bar is always quietly lively and there are TV in the bar area. Bring the family, the fellas, the ladies and you will have a great time with everyone Kid-friendliness: Great choices on the kids menu Parking: Easy parking most week nights. Weekends are packed Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor no stairs
Let's start with the appetizers, the loaded potato skins. Oh boy, they were like potato angels wearing cheese jackets! I swear, I could hear them whisper, "Eat me, eat me!" And so I did, without hesitation. The clam chowder soup was so good, it made me want to dive in headfirst and swim around like a happy clam. And when it came time for the main course, the chicken pot pie danced its way to my table, accompanied by a delightful medley of fruits that made me question everything I thought I knew about food pairing. It was like a culinary tango in my mouth, and I was the lucky partner. Now, let's talk about the service. These folks were like food ninjas, delivering our orders faster than I could say, "I'm hungry!" Our waters were always filled, and I suspect they had secret water-filling powers because I swear I never saw them pour. Now, my girlfriend, bless her soul, opted for the chicken fried steak with the gravy. Let me tell you, that dish was so good it should come with a warning label: "May cause uncontrollable food-induced happenings”. Claim Jumper in Costa Mesa was like watching a phoenix rise from the ashes. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, I highly recommend giving it another chance. Who knows, you might just find yourself falling in love all over again, one appetizer at a time.
The prices have increased drastically from the menu listed online. For example, the porterhouse has more than doubled from $33.99 to $76.50. On top of that they add an arbitrary 3% onto each total to "meet increased costs". Well, I think that doubling your prices should help you enough, thank you. The food just isn't good enough to justify these prices. Plus, if your costs have increased, just update your menu prices. They've updated the menus since the last time I visited, and like I said, they drastically increased their prices, YET they STILL charge the 3 percent. Sorry. Fool me once... This latest visit, my "choice" steak was lacking in flavor and very chewy. Nothing else was great either. To be completely honest, I'm not an Outback fanboy, but they have Claim Jumper beat on quality and price. There's just no reason to pay over 70 bucks for a mediocre steak and then be charged an extra 3% just because. I used to come here every time I was in the area. This is my last time, though.
Had a delicious steak dinner even though the state showed signs of shrinkflation against its menu's picture. We got the chocolate lodge cake and it still doesn't disappoint. It can easily be shared amongst six people. Good place to go after seeing the theater at the Segerstrom Hall.Food: 4/5
Super tasty food. Ate my favorite chicken fried steak a d mashed potatoes. We went right at they opened and staff was still somewhat disorganized. I had to go back up front to get service. But I was good once things got moving.
I used to love this place last time i visited was 10 years ago so they made some changes in the menu.. honestly it used to be way betterFood: 3/5
I can say with confidence for my first time at Claim Jumper they did not disappoint! The service was wonderful, the food cooked to perfection, and the atmosphere was the same as any good family restaurant Shoutout to the staff for their seasonal faves- I got the tequila lime shrimp with Serrano pasta and it was BOMB! I can totally say with confidence if I’m in town again y’all can find me here!
I came here mostly to say that the Service was really great. Our server was above and beyond he was attentive despite our group being huge. Made sure everyone's meals were just right. The food all got to the right people and he even bagged up the food that we boxed without anyone asking. My widow maker burger was surprisingly really good. Good portions of toppings. Onion rings were great, the bacon was crispy to perfection, the avocado was plentiful and fresh. Lastly the burger was great. Due to a supply issue they didn't have shoestring fries but the fries they did have were fine.
Solid place! I ate way too much! Potato skins were awesome, farmer burger will feel up any hungry hippo and the mother load chocolate cake will sate any chocoholic.Food: 4/5
Claim Jumper never disappoints. There's something good to be said about chain restaurants when their tried and true food and service is up to par with what you remember from years past. It may not be a trending new fusion restaurant, but the decor is up to date, the food is well prepared and appetizingly presented. The staff is attentive, personable, and professional. You'll be presently surprised how good the food is, and the menu has enough options to keep you coming back to try something new for years to come.
