Housed in an 1854 Plantation Plain-style home, the museum has permanent displays about the rich history of Clarke County.

Mission

The mission of the Clarke County Museum is to educate our community and visitors about our rich local and regional history so they might appreciate and preserve our heritage. We seek to carry out our goal primarily through the collection, exhibition, demonstration and interpretation of artifacts. In addition, we want to bring people and history together through public programming which provides individual, first-hand experiences that will enrich people’s lives.
