Had Lasik surgery this past weekend after waiting years to get it. I’m seeing 20/15 and excited about it. I’ve worn glasses for over 30 years. The staff was friendly and professional, my surgeon was great and they explained everything to me. So far my follow up appointment was also great. I couldn’t wish for a better team of professionals. I will definitely recommend them to others. I’m a happy customer
Many years ago Dr. Joseph Gira did LASIK for my father and he constantly talked about how life changing it was. So as someone who has been stuck behind glasses of my own for over a decade or so. I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps and have LASIK. I cannot speak highly enough about the team at Clarkson Eyecare. Dr. Hubbard did a fantastic job helping ease my anxiety over the process, and Gira did a fantastic job on my eyes. LASIK is a tough thing to consider, but if you decide to do it. You can trust the team here.
From the consult with Dr. Hubbard to the surgery with Dr. Jira, my experience of getting Lasik at Clarkson Eyecare was 5 stars end to end. Both doctors, Crystal, the office manager, and Amanda took the best care of me. They all understood the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with making the decision to get Lasik and it was a judgement free zone. They were all transparent and genuine every step of the way and very comforting. In addition to the psychological aspects, the office has a very clean and welcoming environment. I really enjoyed the 90s on 9 that Dr. Jira played during my surgery that lasted 2 songs! I really can't imagine a better experience for a patient and I am truly grateful for my experience. I would recommend Clarkson Lasik in Chesterfield to anyone entertaining this life changing procedure.
I trusted Dr. Gira, Dr. Hubbard, and the rest of the team for my LASIK surgery from the very moment I booked my appointment. The detailed and caring way they answered any questions or concerns I had shows they genuinely care about their patients. I was given very detailed information and instructions from the very first call with them & that made my surgery from start to finish a smooth experience. Crystal took special care to ensure I had everything I needed to ensure I was prepared before and after my surgery. Would recommend 10/10 with no reservations. I've had an amazing experience with this place!! I first went to TLC LASIK for a consultation and they quoted over $4100 while Clarkson LASIK has a flat rate of $3200 with insurance. The front desk is extremely friendly and super easy to set up an appointment and I even scheduled the actual surgery while on the same call. If you wear contacts, you must abstain from wearing them 1 week prior to the consultation. First, I went through a series of prelim tests with the nurse. Next, I was seen by Dr. Sarah Hubbard, who was super perky and most importantly very informative. This appointment took approximately 1.5 hours. For my surgery day, you are prepped by the nurse of expectations post-surgery. The nurse was very through and answered all my questions. After that I was in the waiting room for about 45 min… There was a crazy delay before I was even seen by the Dr. Jira LASIK surgeon and then another 30 min until I went into the surgery room. The whole surgery probably took all of 10 min!! You lay down on a table, they put a bunch of numbing drops in and then the machine comes down to laser your cornea. The scary part is once that’s done, there’s a period of a minute when I was internally panicking because I couldn’t see!! After that, they pivot the table to the second machine where they fix the level of your eyes and you stare at this green/red laser. You will feel the doctor brush your cornea downward to flatten it. Absolutely no pain throughout the whole process. 2.5 hours. The next morning, an employee of the center will call you and check in on you! I was so pleasantly surprised that this courtesy call was made! I was able to describe some symptoms and she assured me that they would go away, and they did! My eyes are now 20/15!! No issues post-surgery. Best money I’ve ever spent.
