Spent weekend with Boy Scouts at Cabin. Had great time. It is a 0.6 mile hike in from Three Mile Road to a beautiful, secluded spot in the woods. Cabin easily fit 20 boys and adults. Two wood stoves and grand fireplace kept cabin very warm and cozy even with outside temps well below freezing. Nat Thompson Trail goes right out back of Cabin and is 1.1 miles to South Peak and the Appalachian Trail. South Peak offers fantastic views of the region and at 2222ft, good climb for kids and adults. Also enjoyed sledding, outdoor fire pit and snow shoeing. No electricity but propane lights and big propane cooking stove. Some pots, cups, utensils and plates. Outhouse behind cabin. Great place for rustic getaway for groups of all sizes. Run by Dartmouth Outdoor Club so see their website for rates and availability.
Rustic accommodations in the beautiful outdoors, but close enough to Hanover that it’s easy to go to town. Outdoor toilet, wood stove heating, no running water in winter.
Great place, well maintained, spacious and well located. Quite a hike in with little kids and gear. Consider driving your food and equipment in, then returning to the road and hiking in. Warning - the stove works, but the oven is broken, and water pressure is poor.
