CLASS-Salina Public Library

About

CLASS focuses on providing learning opportunities that promote personal growth and build community. Classes take place at the library and in other community sites, mostly on evenings and weekends.

Description

The Community Learning and Skill Sharing (CLASS) Program at Salina Public Library connects skilled community members with those who are eager to learn. Each Semester provides informative and fun courses on a variety of topics.

All classes are taught by Salina and area residents with talents and skills to share. Most instructors volunteer their time and expertise. Class fees range from free to around $100, with an average cost of under $30 per class. Fees go to cover materials costs, to pay some instructors, and to help support the ongoing growth of the program.

Catalogs are distributed twice a year. The spring catalog is available during mid-January and classes are held through May. The fall catalog is available during mid-July and classes are held through December. CLASS catalogs can be found at the library, online, via mail and at many area businesses.

Always a supporter of libraries. I do have an issue with some of the employees. Being sticklers for rules and not being sensitive to people with disabilities. They will not allow caregivers to pick up equipment or books from what I've been told. Even if they are listed on the library account. I hope to work with staff to find a solution. But if you're disabled and you'd like to use any services here you're out of luck unless you can physically come in. I hope no one who is disable comes in, falls and is hurt on the premise because of these policies.
Dropped in to get some work done with my laptop. Tables were fine and wifi was good. Thanks!
I was visiting from out of town and used both the media center and the yearbooks. I had a great conversation with Alexander who even called a few hotels as my personal concierge service.
I came in and got me a new library card and went over to the computers and the lady there at the desk was so helpful and answered all my.
Had problems checking out the 2nd of 2 books. The staff member at the front desk was able to help me. Great service anytime I need help.
Such a very nice facility! I needed to meet with a few clients in the area, and I was able to reserve a conference room super easy! The check-in was smooth and the library staff couldn't have been nicer! I plan to make this a regular stop when I come through town for work!
My hometown library. Always friendly, helpful. It has been renovated and updated. Quiet and relaxing like a library should be. Good bathrooms. A charging station for devices. Salina is fortunate to have a great public library.
I am from Junction city ks so this place was new to me. The lady at the entrance reception/information desk guided me very well. I was still stuck because my document would not share to print and so the 2nd lady was so patient with me and gave me a number to login in a computer. I appreciate the 2 ladies. Thanks for taking your time with me. May Almighty God bless you.
I'm from out of town and stopped by to do some family history research. The staff were very helpful.
I’ve grown up coming here and felt so happy as a kid. Now as an adult I still get happy as well as excited to come here. Now that my son is older I’ll be bringing him and creating memories for him too. :
