The Classical Gas Museum is a must see. It is a time capsule for so many of his visitors and has much more than just gas station memorabilia. Johnny, the owner, couldn't have been any nicer. We really enjoyed our visit and talk. Ask about his interesting past and his worthy donation jar for starving pets, we donated. Enjoy!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Don't let the rust and dust fool you. This place is the real deal! There's so much outside that you might forget that there's an inside, but when you step inside that front door you're immediately awestruck by the amount of mint condition automobilia! I took so many pictures with my Nikon camera. Not so much to post publicly, but so I could go back and look at everything because you'll never be able to take it all in at once. It's almost overwhelming how much cool stuff the owner has acquired over the years. I met him and he is a very friendly laid back kinda guy who loves to talk. When I get all my photos downloaded I'll post an image of him with a 1966 F100 hood badge I donated to the museum. I just happened to have it in my truck when I drove all the way from Austin If you see the brown sign that says "museum" slow down and get ready to turn left! You won't be disappointed!

What a cool place to stop on the low road. No charge to look around at the fully restored items, or go outback and see his 1/2 acre of stuff yet to be restored. Owner was very friendly and made my family feel welcome. I even purchased a New Mexico License Plate ad a souvenir.
Fantastic vintage and retro collection of gas station memorabilia. Don't miss it, a must see.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Made a stop there on my way to Taos and it was totally worth it! I asked the owner why he doesn’t charge a fee and he said he’s a bad business owner lolVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Such a fun experience. We loved it here. Watch for our YouTube video about it @CupcakeChronicles. A definite stop along Route 66. I missed getting pictures indoors but it is fantastic. So many cool signs, gas pumps and memorabilia.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Was closed but walked around anyway. Anti-fossil fuel but appreciate history, design and kitsch. A must see.
A must see for retro gas station enthusiasts. The owner John is a great guy. Lots of cool stories. He doesn't take any money to enter, photograph or video. He should though, its totally worth it. If you do want to make a donation he has a box for the local animal shelter, which we were happy to contribute to. So if you do go, please so pop something in the box.
A really great stop... A lot of old artifacts as well as some restored items for sale. This collection has taken the owner over 30 years to put together. There is parking but lot is small.
