My ex-husband, Joel Eizenstat, who has early stage Alzheimer's recently got lost hiking near Hayesville. Just before his phone died, he called 911. The Clay County Sheriff's dept responded immediately and with all available resources! He was found within 48 hours, after diligent search teams worked tirelessly sometimes in very inclement weather, and in very poor visibility to locate him. Other than being dehydrated and confused, he was in good condition.His three children will be forever grateful for the efforts of the police dept., firefighters and volunteers who gave of their time and energy to bring him safely back to family. We cannot thank you enough for all that you did to give us a happy ending to what could have been a terrible tragedy!

The Clay County Sheriff Office is staffed with the most dedicated personnel I have encountered.  I have lived in Clay County for 3 years and they have gone above and beyond to assist my needs.  My greatest admiration for their commitment to serving the residents and visitors to the area.

What an outstanding accomplishment to adopt and then train rescue pit bulls to be members of the law enforcement family!

Maybe now with a new man in Charge come Dec 3,WE can have a real sheriffs office,that will actually do something about the Grug problem We have.

Not getting the meth cleaned off the streets of hayesville NC really bad town don't move here
