Mission

Clay Hill Memorial Forest (CHMF) is a 305-acre educational and research woodland managed by Campbellsville University as a regional center for environmental education and research. We promote conservation by increasing public awareness of the aesthetic, recreational and economic importance of forests. We believe that forests can be managed in ways that will allow their sustained use for all those values man derives from them. We believe that our best hope for achieving sustainability lies in inclusive education that is founded on research. So we welcome those would use CHMF for educational or research purposes.

We may have moved further south, but this place will always have a small piece of my heart. It is stunning. The history behind the location is both sad and beautiful. You can pay respects to memorial placements, you can bask in the glory behind the hydroponic system, you can walk along the trails that were initially created by horses dragging logs throughout the location. It really is a beautiful location and I wish we were closer to relish in its beauty! I especially love the pictures that they post on their facebook group now that we live in Florida. It makes me remember the hiking that we did while our son was little as a family of three. May you always take care of your cherished land CHMFP. Blessings!
This is such a wonderful place to take your family hiking on well marks trails. The Memorial Forest is not as up kept as it once we as though. You can see neglect is too taking a toll.
Clay Hill is an incredible treasure almost right here in town right here in town... It has public trails that are just a treat for the soul. and last night I went to a hummingbird workshop that was really informative and there were even plants available for purchase. It's a great place!
Would be perfect but the end trail is a little misleading.
What are the better places to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and just go out and walk the trails and be alone especially during covid-19 and social distancing it's a good way to get some exercise and some peace and quiet the place is never crowded is calm and peaceful and Serene in the college has a good hand and preserving that
They are great people and they take the time to educate in a fun way. Can't wait to visit again with my kids.
Beautiful trail and pond. My children had a blast just looking at and learning about nature here!
Very well maintained hiking trais. Beautiful for an afternoon hike.
It was very nice! It was nice getting back to some nature
Great trails in the woods. Trails have markers so you know where go.
