Been looking for a place to use a pottery wheel for awhile now and finally found ClaySpace. Took a short 2 hr intro class with my wife and it was a lot of fun. Started out making a small dish out of a slab of clay and then got to use the pottery wheel. Marie was a great instructor and gave everyone the help they needed based on experience. I’m planning on signing up for a class and going back. Other artists where there working and it was cool to see the different projects they were working on and they were all very nice.
Wonderful place! My daughters really enjoyed their program.
A cute little place with lots of unique gifts. They offer classes too.
We recommend taking a class here! We attended a public mug-making class. Really enjoyable experience and they offer various levels of education including ours which was very beginner friendly. Class atmosphere is pretty subdued and quiet which makes for a very relaxing experience. When our mugs came back. We were blown away how beautifully the glazing turned out!
We received a wonderful introduction to ClaySpace this weekend. Marie walked us through making a mug and allowed us to practice throwing on the pottery wheel. This not-for-profit is a hidden gem.
Cute little show room, where they have open houses. We were given a tour of the full space and it's large and the artists work there is unbelievable.
Such a fun place to explore one's creative side
Just did an intro class with my 12y/o daughter and we had a good time. We did a basic plate/tray type project out of a rolled flattened piece of clay that we will pick up in a couple weeks after it is glazed and fired. Then we got to try the pottery wheels for about a half hour which was fun. Overall a nice experience and the staff were pleasant and helpful. A fair number of other artists there working on their own projects, must have been members, so it's not like we had the place to ourselves. I would for sure recommend this place though.
All depends of the teacher. ART is about to have fun Our teacher that we have was not in the best mood that day . And the place is not to organize, the SAD PART was that I was making a nice ceramic piece for a family member, and the teacher said, you know you can’t take that with you right? When she smashed I was hurt . What a nice person!
I'm signing up for my second session of classes because the facility is amazing and the instructor i have is wonderful. It's a great place to share with others to get inspired by. If your looking to work with clay for the first time or have been for years you'll love it. There is a gallery and special events here too. I recently participated in a Raku firing. I was so excited to see this place existed that I wanted to become a resident artist right away, though there is a waitlist right now.
