Clearwater Beach Voted #1 beach in the World .... Clearwater Police Department, runs a tight ship. They have protection squads set up every 8-10 blocks on the beach. The citizens of Clearwater never leave town they feel so safe.... Thank you CPD, you're the best. Protecting us 24/7. So true to the men in blue Suzy Rich Clearwater/Sugar Grove
I was just pulled over by an officer Miller I did an illegal U-turn. She could’ve given me a $260 ticket and probably should have because I was guilty. Instead she gave me a warning and I am grateful. She was very professional and the gentleman that she was with was very professional as well kudos to the Clearwater Police Department.
I had a couple officers tonight pull me over for the " move over law ". I was unfamiliar with some aspects of the law but the officers informed me fully without making me feel attacked or belittled. I was picking up a friend that had too much to drink and taking him home when these great officers pulled me over tonight. I would have paid that ticket without a sour face... I fully respect our local law enforcement and I really wish I had gotten their names to give them a proper thank you but I'm glad to see that Clearwater is hiring some really great men and women to look after this city. I was born and raised here... About 28 years now But I have yet to meet such wonderful and professional officers until tonight. You all are doing a great job so thank you! And thank you to the nice officers tonight that kept Me fully informed and cut me a break. I appreciate you both and I really hope that the 2 of you stay safe! Also let me add this.. I have been on the Good and the bad side of these clearwater officers. Sure things didn't go the way I expected them to when I needed these guys to help me out, sure they went way better than expected when I probably didn't deserve them to go that way... But regardless of all of that...professionalism was always a priority and they do the best they can. Clearwater is the best! Thanks guys!
Great police department. Had a nice stay in Clearwater as german police officer. At Clearwater Pier we met Christian who invited us to join the next days shift as a ride along. We met some really nice guys and had a great exchange of police experiences. We absolutely enjoyed it. Stay safe my friends!
Went to Clearwater Beach on the day it was opened. The police were monitoring the people that were there. They did an excellent job in making sure the guidelines were enforced. They were friendly. Waived to people sitting in chairs and basically made it a friendly atmosphere. I hope that other people appreciate them as much as I did for the reason of keeping the beach open.
We salute Officer Scott O’Hara and members of the Clearwater Police Department for apprehending the driver who hit our car. On January 30, 2019 while crossing in the eastbound lane of the Clearwater Memorial Causeway, my husband and I were rear-ended by a truck. After severely damaging our car, the driver moved into the right lane, turned right onto Oak Avenue, going the wrong way, and disappeared. We stopped and called the police. When Officer O’Hara arrived I explained what had occurred and gave him the first letter and possible second letter of the license plate as well as a description of the vehicle. Using the tag reader on the west side of the causeway, Officer O’Hara was able to identify the truck, locate the owner, who, when confronted, admitted hitting us. As a result, we will not be responsible for any costs incurred in the repair of our car. We are pleased that the officer took the time to follow-up what seemed to be a hopeless case. Officer O’Hara’s professionalism and communication skills resulted in a win-win solution for all parties involved. As victims, we are appreciative and have had our confidence in the judicial system reinforced. In a time when officers of the law are often disparaged, we applaud those who have chosen to protect members of our society. This time the good guys won!
The Clearwater police came to my home and told me my car was in a car accident and left. So I called Clearwater police department because my car was stolen. When the officer got here I explained that I was nervous and afraid because number 1 my car was stolen and number 2 I'm afraid of Clearwater police. He got upset because I said that and became very aggressive. So I told him I didn't want to talk to him and I wanted to talk to the female office and by him becoming aggressive made me feel more afraid. He would not allow the female officer the take the report. I then asked him for his name and badge number he then charged up in my face . I thought he was about to kill me. I never felt that kind of fear in my life. He then told me my car wasn't stolen and he wasn't taking a report. And walked away.
Tonight I was stopped by a Clearwater Cop.. I am from New Jersey so I am always prepared for an argument. I won’t go into the details but he noticed that I just got dinner and mentioned it in a polite way. He even took the time to review the information to verify whether I was right or wrong. I was in the wrong but he still left me off with a warning and told me to enjoy my dinner. Just moving to Florida, I am gaining a respect for these cops. I just wanted to mention they are very professional and make it a point to do there job with respect for people.
I don't normally review the police but something happened today that led me to do just that. Someone had some personal items stolen from inside a ticket booth at the marina. The person leaned in through the window, took the backpack and removed items from it, two times actually. What this person did not realize is that the security cameras caught him. All of it on video. So, the police viewed the video and are searching for this person now. The officers were all very kind. They took the incident very seriously. They were also professional. I can say that my opinion of the Clearwater police has definitely upgraded. Now, as to the human who stole this stuff.... you are despicable.
After all the bad publicity that police get from guilty people. I was pulled over at 4 am in Clearwater for speeding. And by the way. I was guilty and deserved a citation. Being honest and treated the officer with respect that everyone should. The officer let me off with a warning. Honesty and respect goes a long way. Thanks Clearwater police. My hat's off too you guys and gals.
