Cleburne Intermodal Transportation Depot

Description

The Cleburne Intermodal Transportation Depot is an Amtrak train station in Cleburne, Texas, United States.HistoryFor many years, Cleburne was the site of a major locomotive backshop of the Santa Fe Railroad, and many shop buildings can be seen on the east side of the track. The 1898 two-story brick depot was scaled down to one floor and ultimately demolished during the 1990s to make way for a road improvement project.Cleburne became the northern end of the Trinity and Brazos Valley Railway in 1904, with the portion from Teague now abandoned.Cleburne's current intermodal station, built in 1999, serves Amtrak trains and is the office for Cletran, the local bus transit. In recent history, the station has become less prestigious and the surrounding buildings have become mostly abandoned. The depot no longer has an Amtrak agent and tickets can be purchased from the conductor on board the train.

A nice little station. It is open daily to the public.Nothing too special about it. There are public restrooms, seating and a soda machine that takes cards/cash. It's a short walk to some restaurants and a hotel. The City-County Transit does operate out of this location and serves as a stop for Amtrak. That is why it is called an "umanned station" due to the fact there is no Amtrak employee.
This is a smaller Texas town and has a million cool things to take photos of. The one in my review here is while we were leaving the train station from my phone and through the window. Imagine if you were walking through with a camera. It’s a must for heritage and train photography.
Nice little unmanned Depot. You will have to have your tickets mailed to your or use e-tickets from Amtrak. This Depot serves as the Cletran hub, as well. The attendants inside the station are for Cletran and not for Amtrak. The Texas Eagle comes through here on the way to Chicago North bound and San Antonio South Bound I love the fact we have Amtrak in our Town and wish more people would use it. I take The Texas Eagle as often as I can. Sometimes, 2-3 times a year. I wish I could do more. I travel as far as Galesburg, IL. I get off the Texas Eagle in Springfield, IL and then catch a Van ride, provided by Amtrak to Galesburg. Train travel is great and I encourage everyone to use it. The price for coach is very reasonable! A passenger can travel the Texas Eagle to Fort Worth and then, pick up a train and travel to OKC, as well. Proud to have this in Cleburne!
Very small station. Saw no train employees there
Quiet station, usually not busy. I like how it’s kinda like in the edge of a small town. The trains in this station are Amtrak Texas Eagle 21 and 22
Nice little train station. The lobby is closed, but you can buy tickets on the train. See Photo.
Really just another small town outside of Dallas Texas
Not open on the weekend. Had to wait outside.
It's where I work and I spend a lot of time all over Cleburne so I get to see the sights and find out info about the many places in Cleburne.
