Clemson University School of Computing
Clemson’s School of Computing was formed from the Department of Computer Science in 2007 with a vision to be a national leader in the definition and advancement of emerging academic fields in computing through the development of successful divisions that integrate computation with the arts, sciences, and engineering. The School of Computing is key to the College of Engineering and Science’s mission of preparing students for all aspects of computing and as part of a university wide emphasis on information technology and high performance computing. We provide a diverse and rich educational environment in many areas of computing while also maintaining nationally prominent research programs in selected focus areas.
The School has three primary academic divisions: computer science, visual computing, and human-centered computing.
Our Vision:
We will be a leader in computer science education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We will attract superior students and faculty to fulfill our educational and scholarship responsibilities. We will be widely recognized for the high quality of our research, be it foundational, applied, or interdisciplinary in nature. Our outreach activities will result in the dissemination of valuable knowledge to the State of South Carolina and the Nation.
