Cleveland County Detention Center

Horrible staff. Human rights violations all over this place. Very inhumane. If it were animals in here instead of people this place would have been shut down day one. Very dirty, piles of trash, etc. etc...DISGUSTING place. People can not survive in these conditions. These are HUMAN BEINGS in there begging for their life and the staff just laughs at them. How is this still going on?

My husband received a missed call from an inmate at the Cleveland County Jail the inmate clearly had the wrong phone number, so my husband called the county jail to see if they would relay the message to the inmate that he had the wrong phone number. The receptionist responded, "Ha! no, we are not going to tell an inmate that they called the wrong person." Her response was disturbing and the lack of regard for human decency was truly disheartening. I'm not sure if this is the policy of the Cleveland County Jail, and if so, she could have simply responded so. This is the type of culture and behavior that leads to the occurrence of despicable incidents.

The man who works reception at night is rude and disrespectful my mother was not given her insulin. I called and asked why that was and he asked “does she lie a lot” and said well she’s lying to you. She was in diabetic ketoacidosis and they refuse to give her medication and when they did give it to her they gave her too much and she got very sick. I call again multiple days after he remembers me and he told me I said she was a liar so she was probably lying and I reminded him what he said and he denied it. The staff needs better training and they need to treat their inmates like humans; especially when they have life threatening illnesses. Make sure your family members in this jail are getting what they need and stand up for them because the jail lacks a regard for their care! The man working the phone obviously should not being doing so.

Had a great time staff was so friendly and knowledgeable and the food it was like eating at a five star restaurant over all my stay at Cleveland County jail well if I had to put it all into one word that word would be SUCKS!

If you don't speak up, they will forget about you. I wasn't given access to a phone until I was about to be released 18+ hours after arriving. Also, you better secure a ride because you're booted from the lobby after 8 if you don't. If you're suicidal, find better help. I saw a girl there who was holding her turtle suit up because the velcro was non functioning. If your hair tie is not in your hair and on your wrist, they won't let you have it and refer to it as a bracelet.

You don't have to be drunk to be arrested for public intoxication so keep that in mind before you go out drinking and just stay in your home or if you're at NCED- in your own room. If you have any sort of risk to illness, please avoid going here. They leave the cleaning up to the inmates. I was placed in the clean holding area & as someone whose worked for a private prison, I am shocked they haven't been sued for the terrible conditions there. Feces on the wall, vomit, clogged toilets, moldy food- worst 24 hours of my life. Just now getting off antibiotics for a upper respiratory infection I contracted there.

Worst service everseen after seeing Camaras in hand. Kicking out citizens for no resons. Ples fix this major.

Staff takes all the time in the world to out-process. And don’t care if you call and say you’re there. People aren’t treated like people even if you not inside. Cleveland County officials are Always at the ready to give a reminder that they don’t care about law abiding citizens time.

If I could give 0 stars I would I have a family member in there the jail is inhumane neither of the restrooms in pod a are working VERY INHUMANE TO ALL INMATES SHARING THAT RESTROOM
