Cleveland State's Department of Accounting is one of the largest accounting programs in Ohio, and also one of the fastest growing. We have nearly tripled our number of undergraduate and graduate accounting majors since 2005, from 240 to 650. Our student job placement rate is excellent. We also run our own in-department internship program which places over 80 CSU students in accounting internships per year.
We enjoy AACSB accreditation both at the college level and also separate accounting department accreditation. We currently have 15 full time faculty, and also use highly qualified adjunct faculty from the Greater Cleveland area. Our department has two types of masters programs, a Master of Accountancy - Financial Track program which is a traditional master of accountancy program, and also a Master of Accountancy - Tax Track, which is a newer and rapidly growing program offering a graduate level taxation degree.
We primarily serve the Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio area. CSU is currently in the process of changing from a largely commuter school, to a more residential school, and has just built dormitories to hold approximately 4,000 - 5,000 students. This is creating a more dynamic positive campus experience and spurring extensive new development and entertainment venues adjacent to our downtown campus.
Cleveland State University enrolls approximately 17,600 students. It is located within walking distance of the Cleveland downtown business and entertainment centers and has strong ties with the business and public sectors in Northeast Ohio. Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio region feature vibrant neighborhoods, reasonable housing prices, and an internationally renowned orchestra, the largest performing arts center outside of New York, major-league sports teams and world-class health care organization.
