The time I spent here was far nicer than I've ever experienced. From the amenities, to the adults only pools, to the restaurants, and the Hiking... Ugh, the Hiking was amazing. The views were breathtaking!!! If anyone is looking at coming here for a stay, I'd highly recommend it! The only downside is the kids. There were a ton... And I mean a metric ton of constantly screaming kids.
My family enjoyed the amenities at the Cliff Lodge Spa. The eucalyptus steam room was amazing! The loud hissing of the steam jets is annoying, but the therapeutic benefit of the steam room was worth it. The pool and hot tub are outdoors and provide an incredible view of the surrounding mountains.Service: 5/5
Snowbird is amazing, Cliff Lodge is amazing but when you ask for a luggage cart and they ask what room number you have and they say sorry carts are only for time share members. Seems a bit odd, since I can get a luggage cart at motel 6. We stayed there an entire week so we had to lug 6 rounds of luggage. Also the parking 300-500 yards away from the hotel. The A/V staff was fantastic. The room cleaner was amazing. The valet and desk staff could use some training or you need to buy some luggage carts! Food & drinks: Not a lot of choices in the summer. $26 hamburgers.
Love this resort for a family staycation! We usually get the room with the hot tub and will sometimes get the kids pizza from the visitor building then go to dinner at Steak Pit then drinks at the Tram! Better when you go during Octoberfest too! Get the kids the activity bracelets and enjoy all the fun and drinks! Also, kids love the game room!
Awesome location to visit in the summer. Hiking around the lodge is absolutely gorgeous and the fresh mountain air is quite the change from the valley. It’s places like this that remind me why I still live in Utah.Rooms: 5/5
Mediocre snow resort hotel. Staff is not professional. Rooms look like they served Nixon and Reagan and had never been re done ever since. If you want to receive a package, it's very likely no one is capable to tell you where it is while it is in their package room according to the shipping information. Before receiving the package, I got the information via phone that for receiving, there won't be a fee. However, after not finding the package yes, it disappeared, they tried to bill me a package fee when I was about to check out. Fair enough that they waived the fee very appreciated but this interaction could have been prevented. Cleaning staff takes years for a single floor and they hang out on the floor in front of your rooms for hours. They are nice as ef, but it feels like you are observed. Staff in 71 restaurant is also unprofessional. Neutral attitude is the best attitude you can get there while you order or wait for seating. Since you are isolated in the mountains and you rely on the restaurants at this site, they overprice everything. But that's the usual snow resort experience, right? But doesn't have to be like this. The only thing that is astonishing about this place is its location
I came on a family vacation with my parents who have been to The Cliff before and loved it. Unfortunately, this time was not as great as their last stay there for many reasons. 1. We were not informed when we booked that for one day of our stay, there would be no electricity in the hotel. The whole place was dark, we couldn’t charge our phones, it was a mess. Old people were sleeping on benches in the lobby because they couldn’t climb the stairs to their rooms. They did notify us of this when we checked in but we had no idea that would happen when we booked. My stepmom asked if there was any compensation they could offer since the whole day there was no electricity - they rudely replied “no.” 2. One day we waited at the doors to the pool for 30 minutes. An employee told us it would be opening any minute now so we continued to wait. But the doors never opened. We called the front desk and they said the pool probably wouldn’t open for a few hours. We asked if we could use the spa pool instead and they said “no that’s only for spa guests and you have to pay to enter. But you can go to the lodge pool! Go to the valet and they’ll give you a ride” The lodge is the hotel next door. So my family of 6, all wearing their pool clothes and flip flops, walked down to the valet and asked for a ride. He was confused and said he couldn’t drive all of us. So three of us wound up walking and he drove the other three. I guess the employees don’t communicate here. Then, we arrive at the lodge and their front desk is like “they told you to come to our pool?” They were very kind and let us in but obviously The Cliff did not inform them they were sending us over. 3. The internet was down several times during our stay. And the phones in our room didn’t work. And the outlets in the room didn’t work half the time. 4. Some of the waiters and bartenders were unprofessional and just didn’t seem like they cared 5. The food was all OK and way overpriced including “fine dining” at the Aerie. 6. My family was denied entrance to the spa gym which they let us look at the day before, and is always empty and pointed them to the downstairs gym which is about the size of a bedroom. 7. The staff was rude and unhelpful. They gave us vague directions to places and didn’t seem like they knew anything in the area. Maybe because we aren’t skiiers? 8. The mountain coaster was not working and we were never informed of this and were looking forward to it. 9. Not a single hiking trail was open in Snowbird due to snow on the trails. Again, we were not informed of this prior to coming. The employees failed to recommend us anything else to do in the area. We didn’t rent a car because we thought there would be plenty to do hiking wise around snowbird. We were definitely wrong about that. We had a great time as a family because we made the most of it. But we probably won’t be returning to Snowbird or The Cliff again due to our experience this time around. I hope they improve their customer service for future guests, especially when we paid a lot to travel there.
I'm only stating the obvious; The Cliff Lodge is amazing! We make it a habit to take our out-of-town clients up Little Cottonwood Canyon to give them a good taste of life in Salt Lake City. The Cliff Lodge makes for a great destination with dinner, a view, and time in the mountains. Whether it is the busy ski season or a quiet evening in the Fall, no time is a bad time at The Cliff Lodge.
This is their tiny dirty gym. Half the stuff does not work. They have a nice new gym at the spa that costs 35 dollars to use. Wait, I am paying 400 a night for the room and I have to pay an extra 35 a day to use the gym? Wow.
Hard to beat the location. Amenities are good. Fitness center is a bit of a joke. Heat was stuck on and one treadmill was broken. Bell service and valet available and a good restaurant onsite help make up for it.Rooms: 5/5
