Cliff's Amusement Park

Description

Cliff's Amusement Park is a combination amusement park and water park in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. It opened in 1959. It features 24 rides for all ages, food, and carnival style games. It also features a water attraction, WaterMania!, which operates Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. It's also has the only wooden roller coaster in New Mexico, the New Mexico Rattler.Early beginnings (1959–1962)Cliff and Zella Hammond built a small kiddie park located at 7600 Lomas Blvd in 1959 and named it Uncle Cliff’s Kiddieland. After a few years at this location, the neighbors started a petition to have the park shut down. They relocated for a very short time to Little Beavertown in Tijeras Canyon outside Albuquerque.Evolution (1963 – present)In 1963, Cliff's relocated to its present location at 4800 Osuna Rd. NE. At that time it was on the very outskirts of Albuquerque. As bigger attractions were being built the company wanted to take the emphasis from the word "Kiddie" and dropped it and renamed the park Cliff's Amusement Park.RidesRoller Coasters Galaxi New Mexico Rattler Water Rides WaterMania! I went a couple of times with my family, most recently in August 2022. The park has great attractions perfect for little kids and teenagers, as well as adults. Is there are a few different distinct areas in the park, one section is designated for the youngest riders 36" up. There are other rides appropriate for children above 42", 48", and 54". There's also a small water park with a few decent water slides and a huge dump bucket. Definitely worth bringing towels and swimsuits, there are lots of lounging chairs available in the water area. Restrooms were clean. Food is reasonably priced, for an amusement park anyway. We enjoyed the swirly the ice cream. The only negative of the park was that they didn't have enough staff to cover all of the rides at the same time, and they had to switch stuff from some rides to other rides making some of them unavailable for a period of time.
It's a small amusement park but we had a lot of fun. My kids enjoyed it so much and so did my husband and I. We road the rides first then afterwards we went to the water park. We bought food and drinks, prices wasn't so bad.
First for us n we all loved it! Will def come back, the water park part was cool also but we didn't come prepared for it. If planning to visit the water park bring towels n bathing gear.
For it being small it was big...if you know... had a blast... they were helpful and very understanding....I have a handicap child... The waterpark was fun... we will come back...
It is an awesome place to bring your kiddos on a hot day. Water slides. Water bucket being dumped on you. A great place for kids of all ages to enjoy themselves.
I should have read the reviews before coming but it’s not something you think you’d have to do with cliffs. Anyways, like everyone else mentioned most of the rides are closed and no sort of discount is offered. The first ride my family went on was the Log ride. As soon as the log made it to the top it quit working and they had to be walked off the ride. The tilt a whirl, the black and green water tunnels, the train ride and other main rides were closed! Very disappointed when it cost $140 dollars to enter for two adults, two children. Save your money right now and wait for cliffs to get their act together.
It was ok very crowded I don't like to be around alot of ppl my mental illness I got but loved talking my granddaughters they had so much fun I love to see smiles on there faces & my older kids we're on there own having to much fun just the lines are to long to me they should make cliff's bigger & the parking to & very expansive omg 1 time is good enough then the things are high & not enough $ the economy is ulgy.. I do appreciate the government for Snap & Social security medicaid & other lil things we get help with!!
It was really nice my kids love it rides were fun food is a little too much but it is a good park. Only thing is Cliffs really needs to hire more ride operators because Alot of the rides were closed or opened right before closing time. Another GREAT option would to expand the hours until at LEAST 9pm-it would be AWESOME for the kids to see how cool they rides are at night!
How fun of a place! We paid a little over $100 for a family of three plus food. Totally worth it! The park water park is what made it worth it. Tons of open fun and water slides. I'm not a huge ride person and also not a big fan of waiting 20 minutes in line, for 30 seconds of funm it was so hot and the poor workers looked so tired, but didn't complain. A wonderful area for little kids. Overall kind of like once a year kind of thing, but we still had fun. The good was decently priced and not bad! Try the green Chile cheese fries. Generous portions and pretty good for the price.
It's a small amusement park and I remember the fun I've had over fifty years. I enjoyed taken my children to cliffs one day I will miss the time's we have enjoyed. New Mexico your lucky to have a nice park..
