Dedicated to the preservation of artifacts important to Clinton County history, with programs of education and experiences.
In 1921 a small group of concerned citizens, dedicated to preserving local history, founded the Clinton County Historical Society (CCHS). In the ensuing years CCHS has grown tremendously with the continued goal of preserving the County’s treasures, sharing them with the public through free programs and special displays., community events, history camps and programs for children.
The main offices are in the Heisey House Museum, 362 East Water Street. We offer research facilities and resources on people, places and things in our County’s history. Reasonable fees apply.
The museum and grounds are available for rental for private meetings, parties and events. Please call us for rates and availability.
The Clinton County Historical Society (CCHS) is organized to maintain a framework for collecting, preserving and interpreting the records and artifacts significant to the history of Clinton County. The CCHS encourages research into local history, recommends the preservation of historical structures and sites, presents free educational programs about the county’s history, seminars to members and public and cooperates with other organizations interested in historical preservation.
