i was looking forward to eating at a nice restaurant, i had surgery and have not been able to get out. i could only eat soup, but Coco's has good soup. ordered my soup everyone was nice. I took about 6 bites of soup and found what was a French fry in my soup-nasty-how old was it! The person who sat me offered to get me a new bowl, i said thanks. then my waitress came and offered the same. Then i heard from the kitchen the cook complaining that i had already ate half of the soup and the waitress trying to get me a bowl. i was so embarrassed i took the check to the front to pay so i could leave. the person at the front said she would take care of it and did not charge me Horrible experience, the cook should of been the one embarrassed not me. At 12:30 on a Friday, when it didn't seem too busy, there was no one at the reception desk and no sign telling us to find our own seats or wait for a host. Our party waited for 3-5 minutes to be seated at a table that hadn't been fully cleaned yet. There seem to be no bussers or hosts, so the servers seem to be doing all the work. The server seemed to be easily confused about my menu questions and order maybe it was my fault. She was a little curt, but not overtly rude. We weren't checked on very often during the meal, and then only very cursorily. When we were done eating, we hadn't received our bill. We spent at least five minutes waiting and looking for a server before we went to the cashier's desk, still without having received our check. Other customers had the same experience. We waited in line for several minutes. The server knew what our bills were from memory, but other customers had to describe their orders and where they had been sitting. Pretty shoddy customer service overall, but I suspect it had a lot to do with the management and its concept of operations, and less so with the servers. Try another Coco's if you can or another restaurant entirely. The food and prices are decent at best, and certainly nothing special enough to compensate for the markedly inferior customer treatment. Two stars seems a bit too high, but I'm feeling generous today.
The customer service here makes me feel like a celebrity. I drive here from Rancho Bernardo because everything is just so much better!
Poor service. The servers seem to be doing all the work and they are not very good at it.
