Very nice park with wildlife and camping by the river. Well maintained and gets pretty busy. The train is a self guided tour and costs nothing. The men that run it worked for the railroad. Don't forget to see the bronze statue in front. Been there several times and there is always something new to see.
RV Camping by The Platte River... fantastic! Waking up to Canadian geese and Peacocks calling... ver memorable. This is a very nice park with something for everyone. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the campground lacks hookups and showers. The $10/ night is very reasonable and we really enjoyed our stay but 30 AMP electric hookups would have been nice.
This place is awesome. We all enjoyed the merry go round, the kids loved the miniature carnival rides. The tickets and food/snacks at the consession stand were reasonably priced. I definately recommend this place for anyone whose looking to get out of the house for a bit. This park also has tennis courts, a softball park, a dog park, a mini camp ground. We got to feed some animals that were around the park. Definately bringing the kids back here. It was super fun.
Wonderful park that is worth checking out. North Platte is a great small town but most people probably don't venture beyond the gas stations and fast food. The Cody Park Concession Stand is a wonderful little gem that cooks your food to order. It's worth the wait.
Large park with a variety of recreational opportunities. I came to see the trains, and was very happy with the fact that visitors can get right next to the locomotives and rolling stock; I learned something about the Centennial engine that I'd long wondered, but never been able to observe at close range. The Challenger and Centennial are two of the most famous locomotives in American railroad history, and it is special to have them both publicly displayed in North Platte.
Cody Park is a very unique place that I will never forget. My girlfriend and I were driving cross country, and it was Thanksgiving Day. We were looking for a park to stop and have lunch. Cody Park happened to be the closest. What a cool place! It's part park, part holiday display, and part zoo, with American bison, deer, and lots of geese and ducks. There was no entrance fee. We sat in the pavilion and had a picnic lunch, then strolled around the grounds with our dog Nancy. It truly was a Thanksgiving to remember!! If you happen to be in the neighborhood, check this place out, you'll be glad you did! It's fun for the whole family. There's even an Island of Misfit Toys!!!
Great park with lots to do! Concession stands are always hit, especially the ice cream. Rides for the little ones during the summer, swimming pool, wildlife animals behind fences that you can feed corn to, and of course a there are a few playgrounds for the kids. Lots picnic tables and shade for picnics. All-around great park for everyone!
At only $2 this park is a wonderful place to visit! Lot of history about Buffalo Bills life. A Nebraska park sticker is required $6 daily but well worth the stop.
I love this place! Highly recommend visiting if you're in this area. Free of charge. Walk thru and hands on exhibits. Very educated gentleman located in their indoor museum lobby. Great museum and only one of its kind in the world!
Sadly the Park is closed for the season. Which is really too bad. I would have loved to see it.
