Behind the Coffee Gallery coffee shop is The Coffee Gallery Backstage, a venue for great music, located in Altadena, in the San Gabriel Valley, and only a few blocks north of Pasadena, it is part of the megalopolis of Pasadena, Altadena, Los Angeles and Hollywood, the music and comedy acoustic heart of Southern California. This cozy venue features, almost every night, live , professional musical entertainment of national and international quality. The staging, sound and lighting are all excellent, as is the comfortable seating. Art gallery quality murals depict a Central American coffee bean warehouse, which is the atmosphere of the showroom. Dedicated to the highest form of the musical arts, it is a family appropriate venue. In addition to night time amusements, the community is invited to rent the space. It is available to rent for meetings, show room recitals, corporate functions, business meetings, and private parties. There is plenty of free parking. The main attraction is folk music and American and European, folk oriented entertainment which is eclectic and encompasses singer/songwriters singing and playing guitar, banjo, mandolin, harp, bass, accordion, harmonica, cello, violin, fiddle, and ukulele. Classical music, Celtic music, Western music, Hawaiian music, slack key guitar, and folk dance (hula), jazz, Flamenco, gypsy, gypsy jazz and Balkan Music, Flamenco and Flamenco dance turn the stage electric. America’s history is reflected in Bluegrass music.
The great acts in pop music are honored with the staging of Cover Bands, usually known as Tribute Bands or Tribute Acts.
