CSLP is a consortium of states working together to provide high quality summer reading materials at the lowest cost possible for public libraries.
Currently 48 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa and the Mariana Islands are members of CSLP. All public libraries in member states are included in our membership. Libraries in Illinois and California are members in part. CSLP offers membership to all Illinois and California public libraries and additional information about membership can be found at cslpreads.org.
The purpose of CSLP shall be to procure materials for a flexible summer library program:
1) to develop children's interests in reading for pleasure,
2) to encourage and motivate children to improve their reading skills,
3) to encourage use of all library resources,
4) to increase awareness of libraries,
5) to provide a tax-exempt charitable organization to promote library programming.
By combining resources and working with a exclusive contracted vendor to produce materials designed for CSLP members, public libraries in participating states or systems can purchase posters, reading logs, bookmarks, certificates and a variety of reading incentives at significant savings.
