Sandra Plenty, the owner of this shop, despite months of email requests, has refused to return all of my unsold items and refuses to disclose where they are being “stored” . I dropped 40+ items off, and only 2 short months later she closed without any notice to me and other consignors. She defaulted on the lease of the store according to records posted on the store window. Myself and many other consignors have filed reports against her at the Vestavia Hills police department and I know many others are filing civil lawsuits. Despite her claims of reopening, she has no set date or location for reopening. I can't imagine that any property owner would lease to her. If you are a consignor with Collage and you are getting zero response from the owner, Sandra Plenty, and you want to find out why she has withheld your check for sold items or withholding your unsold items, then you can certainly visit her at her wine shop called Plenty O Vino located in Hoover! Good luck.
I’m getting tired of trying to find where your shop moved. Been looking for 2 months. You left without leaving a new address and new phone number. Your other phone has been “full” for at least 2 months. You have stolen my clothes! I have already been to the police and was told to give you a couple more weeks and then they will help me. Those 2 weeks are over! UPDATE: Obviously you people have scammed your customers who still had clothes not sold who knew nothing about you moving. And to this day no info has been posted on your “new location”. I am going to contact an attorney to file charges to get my clothes back. If anyone would like to join me in this legal action, leave an email and I will get back to you.
Took my mother shopping at this boutique today 12/10. We enjoy consignment. As we walked in, we weren’t greeted by anyone. Two employees were at the front register and saw us, just never acknowledged us. Not that big of a deal, although two young ladies came in after us were greeted. Eventually an older woman came out to help. I was happy she did, because I don’t know much about women’s clothing, but I was really hoping to help my mother with an outfit she is disabled. She was very pleasant, congenial, and helpful. The two younger ladies, not so much. We found a couple of items and went to make the purchase, and, of all things, I was ID’d. It makes me uncomfortable because the young lady who “carded” me didn’t “card” the customer before us. Our purchase was less than $40. It was all just very odd and unwelcoming, and almost felt like we were being profiled in a strange way; giving two stars and not one because of the lovely older lady who helped us.
Had a great time exploring this little shop. Very well organized, with lots of different designer merchandise to choose from. They had an extensive prom and wedding section which I feel like is pretty rare to see in a consignment store. I personally didn't find anything I couldn't live without, but if I lived here I could definitely see this being a go-to stop for me.
Needs to have a working number. Tried to call and the first time it went straight to a voicemail box that was full and when I called a second time a fax signal came through. Owner may want to fix this issue. I also tried to use contact form on their website but it says there is an error. In response to owner: Clearly, I couldn’t email you if your contact form online wasn’t working.
Best consignment shop by far in the area! The staff is friendly and helpful and I can always expect to be greeted with a smile upon entry! There is an incredible array of clothing for all styles and sizes! Clothes are priced very fairly and always cheaper than what I can find on Poshmark & other online retailers! I always find just what I need and have so much fun shopping around.
Always a pleasure. Today I was asked if I needed assistance several times, helped with opinions and check-out was happily surprised when my items were on-sale! Always great staff and selection.
Found several great items here and there's such a great selection of clothing, but the older woman who works there kept opening our changing rooms and poking her head in while we were undressed - incredibly uncomfortable experience.
Let me tell you about this place! I was in Birmingham visiting museums and historic landmarks and I thought I would do a little thrift shopping in a different city. I searched for #birminghamthrift on Instagram and Collage popped up. I stopped by and my experience was great! First of all, the staff that helped me that day was amazing! Every time I tried on a piece, I got an honest reaction. I was primarily looking for work clothes and I managed to find 7 pieces and one or two still had the tags on them. I'm not a name brand kind of person but I know some folks are, so I found a Ralph Lauren button up, a few pieces from Talbots, and a cashmere sweater. All of the items I purchased were half price from the sales tag except one. I'm so happy with my purchases and would return if I lived in the area!
I LOVE CDC. The staff is so kind and helpful every time I call or go in. The shop is in an ideal location to hit multiple demographics. They’re very honest about what they can and can’t sell for you or when the best time to bring certain items by is with an appointment of course. I started out consigning here and another shop and I no longer use the other shop as the owner/buyer is much better here all around. Thank you!
