Collectors Corner is a treasure trove of high-quality donated items from hand blown glass, art, fine clothing, furniture, china and more!
Collectors Corner is a treasure trove of high-quality donated items, from hand blown glass, framed paintings and clothes, to furniture, china and appliances. Using almost every inch of its 15,000-square-foot building, the shop is clean, organized and welcoming.
Operated by the Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary, Collectors Corner plays a major role in their fundraising. In 40 years, the Auxiliary has raised over $20 million for Eisenhower Medical Center, offering critical support for major construction and renovation projects in addition to purchasing medical equipment.
Generating more than 75 percent of the Auxiliary's annual fundraising, Collectors Corner has a unique cycle of giving. Many of the people who donate have received excellent care at Eisenhower and simply want to give something back - something to express their gratitude. In turn, the staff receives and prepares each item for sale to an equally grateful customer.
Business manager Cheryl Evans explains the process of receiving donations:
"Customer service is very important to us. We inventory every single item, give our donor a tax deduction form and help them through the process in any way that we can. We also respect their privacy and never reveal the source of our donations."
With a constant flow of donations to the store, the savvy shopper becomes a frequent shopper, checking for those once-in-a-lifetime finds, antiques, fine art, and collectibles like Waterford or Lalique crystal. Designer apparel and accessories include names like Versace, Valentino, St. John and Bruno Magli.
